Marian Jacobs English composition II Tasha Bailey, Instructor 23 January 2013 If You Knew You Could Not Fail Tasha Bailey, our instructor, challenged the class to decide “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” What holds us back from attempting the desires of our hearts? What would this world be like if more citizens rose above their fears in order to achieve their seemingly impossible dreams? What if Albert Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers had listened to their fears? Families and friends were quick to insist that they were crazy and that what they were attempting to do was impossible! Our world is a better place today because these people rose above their fears, doubts, and public skepticism, and succeeded in the development of their dreams. What could I have achieved in life, if I had risen above my fears, doubts, and the skepticism of people? I don’t know, but I know that I am striving to rise above my fears, doubts, and other’s skepticism. How will I make a difference in this world? Albert Einstein was slow to speak. His teachers believed that he would never amount to anything. Somewhere he developed belief in himself, because he eventually developed the Theory of Relativity, E=MC2 (squared). This theory opened the doors for all sorts of development in Science, Physics, and Mathematics. What if he had listened to his instructors, who believed that he would not amount to anything? How did he keep going? Every time he failed, he learned from his experience, started over, persevered until he attained his desired result! Einstein believed in what he was doing! He believed that he could not fail! He made this world a better place because he fought his own fears, doubts, and the skepticism of others! How can I apply this to my life? No matter how many times I might fail, I have to rise
