He was thrown of the title by his very own brother, Antonio. Prospero was then exiled to an island, with his daughter Miranda. He was very close to Miranda and loved her very much. This is shown when Prospero tests Ferdinand to see if he really loves Miranda as he doesn’t want her to be broken hearted. The following quotation proves my point, “I have nothing but in care of thee”, this is said when to Miranda when she is getting upset over the shipwreck.
When his most loved daughter comments on her sister’s reactions about his wishes, he then begins to go insane after irrationally separating his land between two of his three daughters based on their charm bringing terrible consequences for everyone. I would say that’s Lear’s first mistake; separating power and responsibility. His two eldest daughters are prepared to be in control of their own lives (age wise) but not necessarily mature enough. A reason of immaturity from the daughters that Lear didn’t notice was how fond they were of him when he declared his wanting, therefore, they aren’t ready to rule a kingdom. They allowed their father to act as if he is still in charge.
Women would place themselves in a position where they would be struck by the februa. In Roman superstition this was suppose to ensure fertility. This ceremony is a significant moment in the play as a whole as it demonstrates Caesar’s desire for a male heir. This shows Caesar’s ambition and how he was a man who was willing to attempt to create his own fate. Caesar tells Calpurnia to stand in front of the priest and ‘shake off their sterile curse.’ Caesar’s words here are
Other characters present in this scene are Antonio, Leonato’s brother, the naïve Hero’s uncle, whose purpose in this scene is to comfort and convince Leonato to stop feeling guilty about the false accusation on Hero and to instead condemn the people who blamed Hero; and Claudio, who is a shy gentleman in love with Hero but falls for Don John’s trick and insults Hero in public on the day of their wedding. Claudio’s purpose in this scene is to show the weakness of his character, and to show his dependency on other strong characters for his decisions. This passage basically talks about the false accusation on Hero during his wedding day and the guilt Leonato faces

After King Uther got his worship from his people, the watchers kept being confused by the next scene of orchestrating a coup of King Uther's brother. The only survivor was Uther's son, who had drifted into a boat and finally in Londinium, where he was found and nurtured by prostitutes. Arthur was survival on the streets from intrigue, cheat, and violence, while the original story tells that Arthur will grow up with Ector's son, Kay and the current king of England, passed away without the heir apparent. In the movie, the director seemed want to speed the story of Young Arthur up in a couple of minuses like a gap which says "15 years later" then the main character is all shown as grown men. Moreover, Ritchie tried to put violent scenes as much as possible; therefore, the film was just about how Arthur created a series of ambushes against Vortigern and had to prove himself as a last direct descendant of King Uther who had the right to own the sword.
Pg 83 L199-201 “I see... your head.” 2.In this scene alonso is devasteted because he thinks his son died when the shipwreck happened during the return journey from his daughter’s wedding in Tunis(pg 75 L102-105 “You cram... is lost-”). Also he is a loving and caring father which helps us construct an image of him as a good man. 3.In pg 77 L119-131 “Sir, you may... your own.” Sebastian, Alonso’s brother, blames him for Ferdinand’s death, and also for arranging a marriage for his daughter that she didn’t want. Caliban Caliban is the son of a witch and the only native of the island in the play. He is an extremely complex character for several reasons: 1.
In The Myth of Sisyphus -Sisyphus stole the gods secrets and he was punished for this action. It was said that realizing that he was close to death that he wanted to see how much his wife really loved him, and he was granted that but fell for the scene of life and wanted to stay there. “But when he had seen again the face of this world, enjoyed water and sun, warm stones and the sea, he no longer wanted to go back to the infernal darkness.” (Camus The Myth of Sisyphus). This is somewhat similar to the emotions
The Tempest. Scene two: 1 - This section shows how much Prospero cares about Miranda. ‘I have done nothing but in care of thee’ I think Miranda is aware that Prospero has magic ‘art’ but not how much he has – he can control the whole island. ‘Lie there my art’ means that Prospero is putting his magic aside for his daughter. 2 - Prospero shows his authority in ‘Does thou attend me?’ In this section the audience now knows that he neglected his duties as Duke.
Due to their negligence these greedy characters eventually lose everything, and then realize the error of their ways. To start, there are characters who give only to receive something in return. At the very beginning of the story, it is revealed that King Lear is dividing his land. The king is old, and will not be able to carry on for much longer, and since he has no son, he decides to split his land amongst his 3 daughters, Regan, Goneril and Cordelia. This gift does not come free though, he asks for each of them to tell him how much they love him.
