My third difficult was the first time when I saw a book in English here in this country. I remember I could not understand anything in the TV, magazines or newspapers. I think that my ages slow me down in the language process. Age is very important to learn because when you are young the brain is brand new and like a sponge that catches everything. Julia had this advantages and that’s why she learned faster and better than me.
Suddenly I wanted to write about the warmth and good feeling of it, but simply for my own joy, and not for Mr. Fleagle. To write it as I wanted, even if it violated the rules of formal composition learned in school and surely Mr. Fleagle would give it failing grade. Thought I would have time to write a more respectable essay after writing about “The Art of eating Spaghetti”, but finished late at night and not having time to compose a proper essay for Mr. Fleagle, had no choice next morning but to turn my essay as it was. Two days later Mr. Fleagle returned the grated papers to everyone except me. Thinking I would have to stay after school for discipline, Mr. Fleagle called for everyone’s attention and started reading my essay, word by word to the entire class and they were listening attentively before the entire class started laughing with openhearted enjoyment.
The fact that they are talking about doing away with the programs in all is what I find to be, quite shocking seeing as I took Spanish growing up. They call it the Anti Bilingual movement, but some states such as Texas and Arizona are refusing to participate and are keeping with teaching children a second language as to further their skills in life. As it says in the article, Education is a long term process and involves more than just the English
Well that’s because I don’t know how to speak it an I try to listen what people said, but it always got me confused Last name 2 because when I read, it was so different from what I heard. It was my fault because I was reading it with the Spanish pronunciation, which makes it harder. My dad speaks English and he was always there for me when I needed help and that helped me a lot. Sometimes teachers are kind of rude. When I was just learning English I used to have a health issue, I used to feel dizzy and feinted.
My English is so poor; I want to improve my English. First time, I avoided classes that involved a lot of writing, as I was still intimidated by past failures. But when poor writing began to affect my grades in other courses, I decided to take a composition class. Now, I use my On Course textbook in my English class, this journal will help me about self-awareness. I began to see how negative scripts could cause problems.
She was happy. I was a disappointment to my mother as far as reading went. It wasn’t that I couldn’t read it was that I never wanted to, and compared to my sibling who read every day, I was a letdown. It might not have been such a dilemma to any other parent, but to my mom who’d taught and encouraged kids to read for many years, it certainly was. It wasn’t until I started first grade that I finally started to appreciate some of my mother’s hard work.
Fiorella Cedeno Professor Diliberto ENC 1101 June 26, 2013 Essay 1, Rough Draft Draft Literature weather in the English language or Spanish has never been any interest to me what so ever. I find this class to be very difficult and frustrating but at the same time I know this class is important for me and my future. I understand that literature involves everything from watching television to surfing the internet. Even though I hate literature I am very grateful that I was able to learn how to read and write in English and Spanish. When I was a little girl in Peru I use to fight with my parents to go to school.
I always felt I was the unlikely newcomer, so as early as the first grade I had to learn how to earn others respect. As weird as it may sound I only hated moving so much because I had to move schools. As I move the housing situation continuously got better. To me it was much harder keeping friends than settling in a new house. It was never hard making friends though because, as soon I as I was moved immediately to get comfortable in a new situation I would always be bought something
Jim Keenan English 101 It Puts The Lotion In The Basket As most kids gradually start to read more and more as they mature, I was one of the few who didn't learn to enjoy reading until senior year of highschool. The teachings of Tom Alessandri were the sole cause of my newfound appreciation for literature. All it takes is the inspiration of one individual to turn someone onto reading and writing. Tom Alessandri was the last highschool English teacher I had, taking his Science Fiction & Horror Literature class. While many people would be discouraged by the title of the class alone, I was intrigued and immediately signed up.
When I eventually transferred to public schools, the issues that everyone overlooked because they were not an obvious problem for me really came back to haunt me when I was assigned any sort of extensive writing assignment. I continued to take reading classes in public school. Fortunately, I managed to get through my English classes and graduate high school never expecting to have to write any sort of paper again. While I thought that to be true for the first two years out of high school, that proved to be a poor mindset to have. June
