How I Know How to Win Friends and Influence People How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie has to be one of the most interesting and informative books I have ever read. The easy way he speaks through the pages amazed and captivated me. It is one of the most well written books I have had the pleasure of reading, and it truly was a pleasure. So many ideas I have heard and never put into practice are explained in such a way I regret not practicing them sooner. The chapters flow by so quickly that I reread several passages to make sure I did not skip over anything. I plan to let many people borrow this book and let it speak for itself in the way it did to me, or some other way that passed by me but another will pick up. This is a book I plan to keep and reread many times in the coming years. The author divided the book is into four specific and informative sections. The first section is dedicated to the fundamental techniques in handling people. This is divided into three principles. The first principle states that when handling someone who is believed to be wrong don’t criticize, condemn or complain. This is a lesson I have only learned through mistakes and hurt feelings. Carnegie tells fantastic stories about people who criticized, condemned or complained about how things were done and nothing good came of it. To make the point crystal clear he then told stories of famous and not so famous people who held back their criticism, condemnation or complaints. The effect was made very obvious through his words and the proof he was able to present. The second principle is give honest and sincere appreciation. I know I enjoy when people appreciate me and what I have done so it makes perfect since to do the same for other people. I know many people who I really admire and I am sure they would not mind being reminded of just how much the mean
