How do teenagers commit the fifth commandment? Ribba Pathan Thou shall not kill is the fifth commandment and it can be interpreted in many various different ways. In today’s generation; teenagers commit the fifth commandment in in many different situations, sometimes knowingly and sometimes without even realizing it. “To kill” can mean many things; but the main idea is to destroy someone’s life or hurt them in one way or another, one can kill morally, spiritually, psychologically and physically. First of all killing morally is a way of killing ones moral beliefs. Morality is derived from the Latin word “moralitas” meaning manner, personality, and behavioral ethics. It is the ability to make choices between the good and the bad. In today’s society, teenagers kill morally by guiding people to the wrong path, sometimes even forcing others to do something which is against their intentions or principles. For example, compelling someone to smoke, drink or doing an action against their will is eventually going to harm them in some way or another, either physically or emotionally. Therefore teenagers should learn to not put peer pressure as it is one of the ways of killing morally. Everyone has different talents and gifts given from God. Teenagers these days distinguish and treat people according to their intelligences and looks. They separate people into groups which undervalue a person’s ability. People are made fun of just because; they dress differently or are not smart in math or science. These rude behaviours crushes a person’s inner spirit. One starts to feel unwanted and unappreciated. They are not satisfied with themselves and don’t feel good about who they are. By bulling verbally, racism, and differentiation, teenagers hurt feelings and emotions of another person. This are also counted as a method of killing spiritually. One can hurt someone psychologically
