Alexandra Rochon Honest Hostess The summer after my senior year of high school I landed myself a job at Six Flags over Georgia, and worked there for one full season before I decided to call it quits. After the season was over I put me highlighter yellow uniform shirt in the back of my closet and I promised myself that I would only use the knowledge I’d acquired while working there for good and never evil, and now I here to share the things I’ve learned while working behind the scenes at one of the most popular tourist attractions in the entire state of Georgia. 1. Don’t spend money on food inside the park. While some items on the standard menu, like corn dogs and funnel cakes, are almost impossible to pass up I assure you that they aren’t worth the money. It may taste good initially but the overall quality of the food you’re getting is not worth the large amount of pocket change you will have to shed to get your favorite snacks. 2. Bring zip lock bags. Currently there is no place in the park that will be able to supply you with a water tight back to place belonging in. these little lifesaver come in handy when it is time to get on your favorite water ride but you don’t want to get your phone wet but you also don’t want to risk leaving it on the boarding desk in the provided cubby holes. 3. Dress accordingly. An amusement park is not the place for you to wear you Sunday’s best. It will be hot and you will be walking around outside. A nice pair of walking shoes and a comfortable pair of shorts are defiantly the way to go. 4. Flip fops are not your friend. Flip flops or slip on shoes in general are often times not allowed inside the park because they pose somewhat of a safety hazard. They can fall off your feet while riding or break after riding a water ride causing you to slip and fall. The scavenger hunt for a new pair of shoes after you lose
