Health Reform Plan Paper Grand Canyon University: HCA 255 Health Reform Paper In 1993 President Clinton gave a speech on how he the reformation of health care would take place. Despite the fact that large majorities of the public rated health care reform among the most urgent problems facing the nation and voiced support for a plan that would provide medical insurance for all Americans (Bok), Clintons plans could never take flight. There could be many reasons as to why President Clinton never succeeded in his plans for health care. One reason as to why the plans failed is because republicans felt that President Clinton was simply moving to fast. Another reason could be due to his poor investments made in whitewater. This could be one of the factors that could have persuaded mistrust from the people. President Clinton had a very good plan that existed but he did not have enough of a time scale in place. His plan was to simply increase revenue and decrease spending within health care. Republicans felt otherwise that his plans were basically to risky for a short period of time. They seemed to lose faith in his ability to lead the country financially. They were not sure if the President would lead the country to success or to financial ruins. President needed at the time a group of people who would strongly back up his proposals enough to cause people to sway to his side. Republicans saw this history on the President as a good tool to down grade his credibility in managing the governments finances.
