Communication Channel Inventory HCS 320 As a team we gather some information about communication channels that we use in our place. I have learned that it doesn’t matter if you work in a health care field or not the forms of communication as very similar. We have discussed how these channels effect our workplaces and how the benefit our companies to the fullest. Some of the more common communication channels consists of phones, email, interoffice mail, meetings, instant messaging, and face to face meetings. In the inpatient pharmacy. With that being said, communication is very important to our daily routines. Doctors fax, electronically submit orders for medications for the patients. There are many channels that are used for communication such as, email, walkie-talkie to the technicians inside the IV clean room, intercoms, telephones, pagers, laptops, IM chat program called Lync and interoffice mail system. All of which are used to improve our overall communication process as a pharmacy department and hospital. In addition to all these communication channels every Wednesday morning every in the department at a given time will meet for what is called “huddle.” These huddles are designed for everyone to communicate any new information, and concerns, etc. Most of the technicians find out new policies and producers at these huddles because there isn’t always a lot of time to keep up with emails on an hourly basis. When using external operations, we use interoffice mail which volunteers deliver important documents from department to department. For example, if you need to send tuition reimbursement forms to Human Resources Department you can do it through interoffice mail. Also there is a system where if someone misses an important meeting or huddle the department secretary will type up all the important information and place if in every individual’s…show more content…
They had log trucks coming in and out the property and they had to have communication to other employees as well the truck drivers to tell them where to go. Their main type of communication were walkie-talkies. This kept an open line of communication among everyone who had a walkie-talkie with them. In conclusion it is important that in order to run a successful business it is important to maintain a healthy line of communication process in any company. Email, phone calls, meeting, instant messaging, faxing, text are all used daily all over the world to keep communication open between businesses.
