She wants this year to be different – she doesn’t want to be a “seat filler”, she doesn’t want to be “the-girl-who-just-took-up-space.” – this year, it will be her year. She’s going to start it by stepping her other, now, high-heeled foot. She wasted last year feeling like the misfit, unwanted one. Now, with her “Popular plan” in mind, she will face Hawthorne High with a brand new aura. Her “Popular Plan” was a to - do list she did in hopes of getting the man of her dreams, Damen Dylan. But, while Petula Kensington – the Hawthorne goddes and the Queen Bee, in the way, will she get her way to the top and to his heart? Even worse... She’s dead! And it’s all because of a guy and a gummy bear! Ghostgirl tackles about the adventures of a dead girl who didn’t fulfill her dreams of becoming a popular one and to be with the one she loves. She died suddenly – the ultimate symbol of invisibility. After death, Charlotte ends up living in in Hawthorne Manor – a dead dorm - with a group of dead teenagers who also have unresolved issues from their lives, and there is a requirement to attend a special class for the Dead. It’s a story of how even in afterlife, Charlotte still struggles to fit in. Ghostgirl is the first of the Ghost girl series written by Tonya Hurley. It was published on August 2008 and hitted the New York Times Best Seller on September 2008. It has also been published in different languages including French and Spanish. Even though the plot might sound a little gloomy, it’s a little macabre, a little scoffing, and a whole lot of fun. With Huley’s handwriting, for sure, everyone will be drawn with Charlotte’s story!
