George Washington Throughout American history there have been many great leaders. America would not be the success she is today without these important leaders. Throughout time there have always been great men to stand in and lead America. The American Revolution brought forth many great leaders. Men such as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams all became important leaders for this country and a part of making this country what it is today. Perhaps no man became more vital to America and its future than George Washington. Throughout this paper we will address the impact that George Washington had on the American Revolution which helped propel him to be a great, if not the greatest, leader in American history. The American Revolution was not the first military action George Washington was a part of. Washington gained his first military experience helping lead the provincial militia who trying to fight off the Indians on the Virginia frontier. Washington was also elected as a delegate to the First Continental Congress. George Washington made a major statement at the Second Continental Congress. He arrived at the Second Continental Congress in full military attire. Why would he do that? One reason is that the Second Continental Congress was held after the Battles of Lexington and Concord and Washington was portraying that he and the colonies were ready for war. The colonies for the first were in war so they quickly created the Continental Army.
