Yesenia Castro Mr. Diehl English 1102 01 March 2012 Right or Wrong? Frankenstein by Marry Shelly depicts the negative side of an unorthodox scientific experiment. Victor in a way wanted to create a creature to experiment his skills and try to expand life, which in turn turned out to be a catastrophe. Victor had created a monster that created uproar in the society. Later on, that same monster that persuaded Victor to make him to make him a female companion, threatened him and his loved ones. Once again, it’s too late when Victor realizes his fault at making a monster in the first place. He went on a tour with Clerval until he felt he was ready to begin making the female monster. Victor no longer had the same intense feeling he had when making the first fiend. This time, he was making it thinking about the fact that the monster told him “Oh! my creator, make me happy; let me feel gratitude towards you for one benefit (Page 99)!” Victor could do nothing but think if he brought this “creature” to life he would have to take care of it as a father would a child, but this was not the case. I guess looks do play a big role in any society. Not only does appearance, but this fiend was also murdering all of Victor’s loved ones. With all of this going on, Victor receives a letter from Clerval saying that he would like him to join him on his expedition. Victor accepts his proposal, and plans on using that time to escape from all of his problems, as he exclaimed “The letter in a degree recalled me to life (Page117).” Victor associates nature with forgetting about anything and everything. Although on the other hand he says, “If I returned, it was to be sacrificed, or to see those whom I most loved die under the grasp of a daemon whom I myself created.” Victor realizes the fatalities of bringing to life a creature that he, himself, is afraid of.
