Analysis of Ethical Dilemma PSY/610 Introduction It is important for psychologists and other professionals to demonstrate ethical behavior when working with clients/patients, students, and colleagues. Unfortunately ethical behavior is not always applied in situations where it is appropriate and as a result those individuals on the receiving end are treated unfairly. This paper will attempt to confront a situation where two graduate assistants are receiving unethical treatment from a researcher who is currently leading the three studies they are working on. This paper will include ethical considerations for the scenario and notate the ethical violations made on the behalf of the senior researcher. Ethical Considerations Thinking before we act or speak is crucial while in the workplace.
Tracking indicators allows an organization to identify the potential for risk and provides more time to act upon the risk. Leveraging existing resources will save the company money. In addition, these resources know the organization, are closer to the data, and understand the vision and direction the company wants to take. Adopting the structure the COSO provides would be useful for an organization. The structure provides the basic framework and guidance for a successful ERM.
There are heightened cultural nuances that play greatly into the attitudes, preferences, and behaviors of international markets. In order for a company to be successful in international business, these are things that must be taken into consideration well before creating its first marketing campaign. Making use of available secondary research, and conducting primary research can help ensure that the introduction of its product is as well received as possible. Scottish Power – Good Ethics Is Good Business The world has really changed, particularly the way business is conducted globally, with new economic and new technologies shaping the globalization environment. One of the main reasons for global success is found is due to cultural diversity. Companies are constantly faced with dilemmas, as in international cultures versus corporate cultures, the bottom line being social and environmental impacts. It is imperative that companies must first address the facts that constrain business values in order to be successful. The Director of IBE, Philippa Foster Black, stated: "Not only is ethical behavior in business life the right thing to do in principle, we have shown that it pays off in financial returns.” (Foster-Black, P. 2006) Companies are continually presented with challenges and opportunities formed by concerns about their environmental and social impact.
Competencies and Career Interest Profiler BCOM 275 September 13, 2013 Competencies and Career Interest Profiler As we use the term in “critical thinking” is not synonymous with “good thinking,” “hard thinking,” “clear thinking,” “constructing arguments,” “problem solving,” or “thinking outside the box.” Critical thinking kicks in after you have done these and other kinds of thinking. It’s what you do when you think about thinking, specifically, when you evaluate the thinking you or someone else uses in arriving at a conclusion about something (Brooke Noel Moore, 2012). Understanding our competencies is a good added value to analyze the areas of home life and our professional life to understand our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and areas we require training (SWOT). Having an idea of the strengths brought out by certain tasks and review the current situation helps us be a better critical thinker to get to a good resolution. Reviewing the competencies and career profiler results some areas were hard to believe than others.
Ethical Stewardship to Increase Trust The problem to be investigated is the role of integrity in the relationship between leadership, trustworthiness, and ethical stewardship (LT&E). The relationship is critically useful when discussing an organization's profile within a community (or global market) or an individual leader’s vision within the organization. In writing about leadership, trustworthiness, and ethical stewardship, Caldwell, Hayes, and Long (2010) states, “Scholars and practitioners have increasingly acknowledged a gap of trust between leaders and followers…” (p. 497). Further, Steven Covey in his book The 8th Habit states, “Low trust is the first chronic problem that all organizations face” (2004, p. 107). Chronic?
