The owner of the business believed at the time that she could run a successful tax preparation office regardless of the fact that she had lost over fifty percent of her clients. She believed that because it had been run successfully and with good reputation by the previous owner that the business would pick up and become even more successful. According to Bazerman, insensitivity to sample size is an element of the representative heuristic. Therefore relative to this assignment, I will attempt to show in this memo how my emotions and the use heuristics were prevalent in my decision making. Memo Based on my previous decisions, regarding the business, I realized that I made a hasty decision in firing the first two workers and hiring someone whom I believed to be more knowledgeable in tax preparation.
Individuals also need to know there are secure systems and procedures operating in the care setting to protect confidential information. Safety Some information must be kept confidential for safety reasons. For example, some service users are categorised as vulnerable adults, such as a person with special needs whose whereabouts might need to be protected from a relative who abused them in some way in the past. For example a lack of air and water will eventually kill and individual. Safety: When the physiological needs are largely taken care of, this second layer of needs comes into play. You will become increasingly interested in finding safe circumstances, stability, and protection. You might develop a need for structure, for order, some limits. Looking at it negatively, you become concerned, not with needs like hunger and thirst, but with your fears and anxieties.
While a little amount of fear and lack of trust might be necessary, excess of these things is not good and prevents one from doing a lot of things including difficulty in communicating effectively. It is important that service users trust the service providers because the service user may not take the service providers advice with could be potentially dangerous or even life threatening. It is important for these individuals to seek help for the aftermath of the assault in order for them to return to a previously psychological healthy place. Another way to identify a client’s problems is to establish which needs are being met and which are not through the hierarchical perspective. This theory is best described by Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs model. It was later proposed that these hierarchies of requirements could be divided into two categories: deficiency needs and being needs. This perspective says that if a person is unable to provide themselves with the physiological needs such as food or shelter, they would not be able to focus on other needs such as protection or even concentrate on the love and belonging
Unfortunately, if an individual is choosing to become homeless there are often much bigger, darker rooted problems. For example, an individual in an abusive domestic relationship may choose to leave their home without a place to go for fear of their own safety. I believe it is important that an individual has the ability to maintain autonomy in knowing that when circumstances such as these arise society has adequately prepared to help. Such help may include shelters for victims of domestic abuse and transition homes so that self-improvement may be encouraged. Unfortunately poverty and homelessness are so intertwined that those who find themselves living on the streets often enter a vicious cycle that may inhibit self-improvement and according to Mills may then affect the general welfare of

To carry out our day to day living requirements we rely on our sight and hearing senses. Being unable to communicate can prevent an individual from expressing themselves, making it impossible to gain the required needs and choices for everyday living requirements, if an individual cannot communicate they may be unable to receive the appropriate level of care that they need. There are various ways that hearing impaired people can communicate well such as sign language, lip reading, body language and pictures. Some methods rely on the cooperation of others e.g., learning to sign, facing individuals when speaking, speaking clearly, not treating them with respect that all individuals deserve regardless of their disability.
People base their encoding or transmitting of information on their personal experiences and expectations. Physical barriers are the aspects of an environment that make communication more difficult. These barriers include a rigid chain of command that requires the officer to report to a supervisor instead of informing a peer about information obtained regarding a crime. Semantic problems can be defined as “the inability to agree on the meaning of certain terms, with a resulting loss in the ability to communicate clearly. Ineffective listening is the failure to hear or receive what the other party is transmitting.
