Employee Portfolio: Motivation Action Plan After I carefully reviewed the self-assessments administered to the three Riordan employees, I developed the following motivation action plans which details the strategies suggested for each employee based on individual characteristics in an attempt to maintain or increase their levels of motivation. ? and ? The motivational strategy and action plan conducive to the self-determination theory, “which proposes that people prefer to feel they have control over their actions, so anything that makes a previously enjoyed task feel more like an obligation than a freely chosen activity will undermine motivation” (Robbins & Judge, 2011). Because both are satisfied in their positions, the need to increase their wages at this time is not necessary. Positive plans for motivational strategy should focus on maintaining their interest while allowing them the additional freedom to make decisions. Supporting both their growth and development within the organization may allow them to advance into a management position if they so desire. The motivational strategies for them should also be both intrinsic and extrinsic incentives such as supporting their growth and development within the organization and providing recognition where due. Maintaining an interesting work environment for them as well as allowing them some freedom of choice where decisions are concerned will maintain their high level of job satisfaction and motivation. ?? Although ??’s performance rating appears to be on the low end, she does possess skills and knowledge beneficial to the company. Motivational strategies suggested for her would be to introduce her into a job rotation for a trial period of two months. During this time, the company should recognize her accomplishments as well as monitor her progress to determine if there is an area she would be more efficient
