With advancements in technology, some students have chosen to complete their schoolwork through the Internet, rather than in traditional classrooms. Those who support a traditional classroom approach to learning argue that it provides more of an opportunity for students to interact with the teacher and other students. Those who feel that learning over the Internet is better argue that it allows students to learn anytime and anywhere they choose. Do you feel education is better provided in traditional classrooms or when offered over the Internet? Write an essay to be read by a classroom teacher in which you persuade the reader that either traditional classroom education or Internet-based learning is better. With advancements in technology, some students have chosen to complete their schoolwork through the Internet, rather than in traditional classrooms.
Because many students also rely on the computer’s calculator, their ability to learn the proper methods of solving math problems might not be as enhanced. Because the traditional ways of learning are still readily available to students, it is important that parents and teachers encourage children to rely on them and not become solely dependent on
By accepting and even embracing technology allows teachers to grow the minds of children. Why technology is so important to the student and the scholar are varied. Technology has changed the way that we learn by showing new methods of learning. Labor intensive projects of the past are gone, and can be made in hours instead of days. A slideshow or even a video can be made and edited in a night and aired the next morning instead of weeks of sleepless night and allows changes what can be expected in a classroom and allow new ideas not to be ignored because of how difficult it would take to implement.
It probably took them twice as long just to get things done. One of the biggest improvements in technology that helps the classroom would be the internet. Many times there is just not enough information from books and magazines, and students now can access all different kinds of information using the internet. Students can also create websites which will assist them and make the job of the teacher easier. This is fun for the students to do, and they can post short stories, poems, class homework, and many personally created activities.
I researched so many websites because this became interesting to me. The first website that I was on I really liked what I read. Eclkc.ohs.hhs.gov. Challenging behavior is any behavior that interferes with children’s learning, development, and success at play is harmful to the child, other children, or adults puts a child at high risk for later social problems or school failure (Klass, Guskin, and Thomas; Ritchie and Pohl, 2010). We do not call this behavior challenging because it summons you to a duel or battle but because it is threatening, provocative, and stimulating, all at the same time.
And it seems that the computer literacy is very important which particularly effect contemporary young people’s mental development. This essay will explore how to properly operate a computer, and what pros and cons they will bring. Contemporary computers are multimedia machines with sophisticated audio capabilities to accompany the video displays (Jewitt 2006cited in Jack J. Hourcade•Howard P. Parette Jr. •Nichole Boeckmann • Craig Blum 2010 p485). It is true that variety of audio outputs are widely used in schools and colleges that they have become an essential feature of modern education. (Bitter and Pierson 2005 cited in Jack, Howard., Jr, Boeckmann, & Blum, 2010).
This is the primary reason why several people choose to take online classes instead of a more traditional sit-in class. The ease of choosing when and where you study is invaluable if you work full-time. By taking an online course, it eliminates the need to sit-in class to learn. This not only helps save time in everyday schedules, it allows a person to study at their own pace and review material whenever. Unlike traditional in-class sessions, where students have to work around their school schedules unless, he or she must wants to miss material covered for that day.
Being able to ask the instructor questions in person was easier than in email when it came to understanding things that were confusing. Online education is great for someone that needs to learn at a slower pace. I have always had a hard time following along with the assignments that I have been given in a classroom environment. Learning through online education has been a lot easier for me than I thought it ever would be. Working on one assignment and a few chapters a week is great.
In contrast, a classroom made up of 11th and 12th grade students is much more calm and structured and therefore much more difficult to note take. I found it quite difficult to observe anything other than “writing in notebook” and “looking through textbook”. But in the end I was able to take enough notes to figure out one particular students motivational behavior. According to Stipeck, theories of motivation have been created to help us explain, predict, and influence behavior. During my observation in an AP Calculus class it became apparent quite quickly that the student was highly motivated.
The Internet is the leading distractor in young students and adults. A few other causes include Social networks, gaming, and television play a huge toll in student’s schedules and are pushing into studying time. Little do students know that the internet has assisted with spotting someone else’s work within theirs, “with the rise of the Internet, cheating has become easier--and easier to detect” States McCollum. (McCollum, S. 2002). Procrastinating is also a sign that the student does not take an interest in the subject or feel they do not need to put as much effort because they feel they are already educated enough to pull off the assignment in a short period of time leading to stress factors that also change the quality of the work.
