ELECTRONIC SURVEY The past ten years have seen an increase in the use of computer based research methods for carrying out surveys, since the world today has become revolutionized by electronic communication. Many researchers have found the internet to be a very fruitful sector for carrying out their researches in form of surveys. Due to the relative decrease in cost of the computer software and hardware and the ever growing popularity of the internet, millions of organizations and groups have gone online as compared to the use to the use of traditional methods of communication and this has created a good platform for the researchers who have been able to gain access to the greater population affiliated with these organizations and groups. In the same way, the revolution of technology has enabled the researchers to improve their methods of collecting data and surveys. Computer and web based surveys have been revolutionized in such a way that data collection has been made very easy. In the essay, i have tried to evaluate some of the limitations facing electronic surveys as a method of carrying out research and also tried to provide an overview of resources and issues for assisting researchers in benefiting from use of online survey research techniques. This method has had its setbacks since there have been numerous uncertainties on issues concerning the willingness of the various groups to spend their time filling out web surveys on the most reliable methods of techniques of collecting these data, Ader, H.J, Mellenbergh,G.J, G.J & Hand ,D (2008). Another setback of the electronic surveys is the quality of the data that is given by the respondents. This issue usually raises arguments like; Are the responses to the electronic surveys different or similar? And if not, where do they tend to differ?
