A Defining Moment at a Young Age ENGL 1613 When I was 8 my parents took me on a surprise trip. I was so joyous when we pulled into the parking lot of Frontier City amusement park. Little did I know we weren’t there to ride rides but instead see Three Dog Night in concert. I had so much fun with my dad that night. As it turns out that night and the wonder of going to my first concert was one of the most inspiring moments of my life.
Christmas is celebrated generally on December 25 by millions of people around the world and is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is not just a single day but actually a season of the year. In most Western church traditions the season begins at sunset on Christmas Eve, December 24, and lasts through January 5. Christmas is the most observed and most popular holiday in most parts around the world, and a civil holiday celebrated by an increasing number of non-Christians. History: It’s controversial about the date of Jesus’ birth, but if named the day Christmas is certainly on December 25.
Twelve Days of Christmas The Twelve Days of Christmas is the twelve days beginning on night of Christmas (December 25) and ending on Epiphany (January 6). In the middle Ages this period was one of continuous feasting and merrymaking, which climaxed on Twelfth Night, the traditional end of the Christmas season. Contrary to popular belief, Christmas is not the "first day of the Christmas." Instead, we might better describe them as the twelve days after Christmas. By ancient reckoning, days and nights were counted separately, and the important night was often the night before, not the night of, the celebration (hence modern traditions of Christmas Eve and All Hollow’s Eve, or Halloween).

Centuries before the arrival of the man called Jesus, early Europeans celebrated light and birth in the darkest days of winter. Many peoples rejoiced during the winter solstice, when the worst of the winter was behind them and they could look forward to longer days and extended hours of sunlight. In Scandinavia, the Norse celebrated Yule from December 21, the winter solstice, through January.
Brew Master Sebastian Artois purchased the Den Hoorn Brewery in 1717 and changed its name to The Artois Brewery. The brewery was internationally known and loved, one Christmas, Sebastian brewed a special batch for the people of Leuven. In honor of Leuven, its name is positioned on the bottle. In this stanza I believe that Anne and her dad had gone to the circus so long ago; because of the current state of the circus poster. In lines six thru ten Anne describes what she remembered seeing at the circus with the Father. She talks about what she saw in the past tense, for example the “distant thump of the good elephants, the voice of the ancient lions, and how the bells trembled for the flying man.” This lets the audience know that this occurred a long time ago, when she was a child. In lines eleven through fifteen I could relate to how Anne felt about her Father. It reminded me of my fond memories with my Father as well.
My parents decided to have a family vacation to include my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. What a great place to visit, a place for people of all ages, Disneyland. I couldn’t wait to experience the thrill of the Magic Kingdom. Some of my family weren’t as excited as I was, most of them have been to Disneyland multiple times. The TV commercials, during my morning cartoons, portrayed Disneyland as the most special place on earth.
