Squanto Report Squanto is a Native American who lived in the early seventeenth century in what is now the Northeast United States. When the English came to this area of America to settle, they became very fond of Squanto and used him as a translator due to his unique knowledge of the English language acquired through an earlier voyage to Europe. The product I choose is King’s syrup. In 1905 King’s syrup was developed in Baltimore Maryland and used throughout the Mid Atlantic for years, in which it was the number one syrup. There are several purposes the syrup is used for which is baking, pancakes and waffles. I remember growing up eating pancakes for breakfast umm the smell of Sunday morning breakfast before church. My mother would cook for myself, my dad and my siblings on some weekends.
In both Ireland and Scotland it was a belief that this physical world and the supernatural world were closest during this time, so magical things can happen. To ward off spirits the Gaels would light massive bonfires. In the Western Isles they would hold a festival of the fairies, souls of the dead flying through the air. Even with all the pagan roots Christianity still had a considerable impact on Halloween. This was the time of the year when Christians honored saints and prayed for the recently dead that were still traveling to heaven.
My family either watches a football game or play football in the yard. Families usually play a game on a game system; in my case, it would be an Xbox 360 Kinect. My family on Thanksgiving makes so much food that could last a week or two and still be fresh. When my brothers and I put butter on the turkey and season it all over, it does smell good, but it smells better when the turkey is in the oven. Then we grab all the potatoes and rinse them off with cold running water.
When I was young, I could think that people have gone mad since most of them used to do their shopping even before the sun would rise on Black Friday. It appeared humorous to me. In my viewpoint, stores should not remain open on this day. It should be the day when families and friends gather together as one and give thanks to God as they celebrate. Some retailers are always open on Thanksgiving Day, for instance, Wal-Mart and Best Buy amongst others (Millard n.p.).
THE TWELFTH NIGHT Twelfth night is a name commonly given to the Christian Feast of the Epiphany, which is celebrated on the 6th of January and which commemorates the coming of the Magi- the 3 wise men to where Christ was born. They brought with them the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, which were appropriate for an infant king. Winter festivals Almost all societies and cultures find it necessary to have some kind of holiday in the middle of winter. The ancient Romans used to hold an annual ‘Saturnalia’ for about a week in the middle of December. During this period all forms of public order were suspended, the law courts and schools were closed, trading ceased and no criminals were executed.

Christmas means, to most people today, a chance to eat, party and give gifts. The word Christmas comes from the Old English phrase ‘Cristes Maesse’ which means the mass of Christ. The most popular explanation for Christmas is that it celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. The first record of the celebration was in Rome in AD360 but it wasn’t until AD440 that the Christian Church made the date of the celebration the 25th of December. However some other people believe that Christmas is not a celebration of Christ as even though Historians doe believe he was born on the 25th they are unsure of which month and it is likely it is a summer month.
