Effects of Urbanization Thesis Statement: Environment, economy and population are the three main groups which are affected by urbanization. I) Firstly, urbanization has enormous effects on environment. A) Lack of resources and organizantional skills (‘‘Challenge of Urbanization’’, n.d.) B) Pulling all sort of people and activities into the city life - Street crimes Effects of Urbanization Urbanization is a process in which an increasing proportion of an entire population lives in cities and the suburbs of cities. Because of cities being where money and wealth are centralized, a lot of people prefer to live in there. There are numerous factors that are affected from urbanization, but the main ones are: environment, economy and population. Firstly, urbanization has enormous effects on environment. Due to the wrong urban planning, a lot of animals and plants may become extinct. Based on the article ‘‘Global Impact of Urbanization Threatening World’s Biodiversity and Natuarl Resources’’, 8 percent of vertebrae species have been marked as endangered because of rapid urban development, adding that number may keep rising
