This is significant, because if one species of animals departs, it causes the food cycle to be rearranged endangering the lives of multiple living organisms. They provide one of Canada’s largest negative impacts on the environment, releasing poisonous carbon dioxide emissions which are getting out of control. If these greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced it can result in the melting of polar ice caps in the Arctic. These oil sands are not only poising the air which we inhale, but also numerous waterways, food supplies, and if this process continues, possibly endangering the extinction of species. Green House Gas emissions are relatively caused by exponential increases in carbon molecules within the Earth’s atmosphere.
Fracking also created huge natural losses such as it crates pollution, destruction of forests to create its pipe lines. The pipe lines they use are also not long lasting as there is gas vapors in water because of leakage in pipe lines. From every twenty pipe lines, one is leaking that increases pollution. Gas burners used to store natural gas creates noise pollution more than a jet engine. It also have connection to increasing sexual diseases.
The relentlessness of these effects on the larger economy depends on numerous issues, including the disaster itself, the pretentious area and the volume of national and regional institutions to provide relief and begin efforts to reestablish surroundings. When it came down to it, “Hurricane Katrina’s damage affected not only the U.S. Gulf Coast, but the national and global economy as well” (“The Effect of Natural Disasters on the Economy” 1). The disastrous storm restructured the movement of goods and service, the world prices for energy, food trade, building materials to rebuild what have been damaged, individual spending choices, and company incomes. Therefore, “natural disasters always alter the building blocks of economic productions” (“The Effect of Natural Disasters on the Economy” 1). Personal misfortune through injury or death decrease the size and eminence of work in the labor force.
It would result in services being unable to reach areas due to the flooding and many more lives could potentially be lost. Human factors however, are huge in earthquake hazards. The main human factor is the fact that we have settled near/on fault lines and live in areas that we know are vulnerable to earthquakes. Along with this there are issues such as building on reclaimed land which can lead to liquefaction and whole areas are destroyed due to being unsafe to live in. This also leads to fires starting which add to the death toll.
The conditions can even result in complete destruction of the plants therefore incurring significant losses. Natural disasters like fire n floods can also destroy the plants hence reducing Bolthouse Farms revenue. Unrest among employees and the changing technology is also a threat facing Bolthouse farms. Price changes and money value as well is a threat to Bolthouse
6. Global Consumerism has caused the earth to lose excessive amounts of natural resources. It also has created toxic byproducts (environmental pollution). This effect may also cause it to be harder to maintain everyday life. General Questions 1.
And lastly, we must participate in the revolution to give back to the earth and reestablish it. Vandana Shiva, known all around the world for environmentalism and social justice, writes "The Soil Vs. the Sensex" on how today's society devastates and destroys the "mother earth." Developing countries such as India, who depend on the land exponentially, are severely threatened by the degradation of the sacred earth. The rich and the privileged do not care, or forget, countries less fortunate depend solely on the earth and the nutrients it brings, meaning: "bio diversity and cultural diversity are at risk; our very future is threatened" (Shiva 579 p2). This diversity continues to diminish at a steady rate as we destroy the earth with waste and Mason 2 pollution.
As a result of this, plants and animals are forced to adapt to significant changes that threaten their way of life. As explained by Suzuki in the article, every year at least twenty thousand species disappear forever and the rate of extinction is speeding up largely due to human activity. Many living things are now paying the price for all the man made pollution that has been created as a result of global warming. Furthermore we as a community do nothing to stop global warming and feel no sense of responsibility or duty to care for the overall well being of our world. Big businesses are releasing harmful chemicals into the atmosphere and oceans.
This means that there is a call for more farmland and cattle fields, resulting in the loss of more forests. Anytime there is a need for more land, trees will be cut down to make room. Businesses that want to expand and create new buildings are another reason deforestation is being overlooked. All of these causes of deforestation affect the environment greatly. With so many trees being cut down for the growing population, many different types of species that live in the forests are being killed or forced to move from their homes.
This would result in sewage spills and environmental contamination. The water discharge would cause the drinking water to become contaminated with bacteria and put everyone at a great health risk. This would leave showers and bathrooms useless because of the overcharge. The biggest issue facing the American correctional system is prisons being overcrowded. The laws because of advancing technology has caused more criminals to be brought to justice.
