Judy Jones was a teacher, then an administrator, and now, she is a principal at Greenleaf Elementary in Texas. While principal, Judy’s superintendent gave her one year to turn her failing school into an academically successful school. Judy used her previous skills as a teacher, and on the first day of school; she re-read The First Days of School, but this time, she read it from a principal’s perspective. Judy told her students and teachers to work and learn positively; and they should all have high expectations for others and themselves. She strongly believed in structure and procedure.
She provides classrooms’ guidance with the teachers and the students. She consults with teachers on what ways they can handle daily issues, such as students that are not progressing in their academics or student who are having behavior problems. She said that she usually tries to get down to the root of the problem before she can asses the issue and resolve it to the best of her abilities. Format: Weekly group discussions will be facilitated by a skilled physiologist. Content and specific information will be provided by the students from their handouts, texts and outside resources. Specific problem sets will be provided one week prior to the PGY 207 class in which they will be discussed. I will always keep the parents involved and welcome them into the room to watch how their children learn. When the school year ends, your child will know how o spell their name and have new learning skills. By the end of my first school year I was well trained on any and everything that needed to be done in a classroom. I also learned that you can excessive borrow and more borrow from other teachers ideas to help you in your classroom. The classroom setting of early head start children can take a little getting used to but in my opinion if you are a parent It won’t take long.
