The factories are very dangerous places to work and most workers, hired specifically by the companies are undocumented citizens. These people feel that because they don’t have the proper papers for work, they don’t have proper rights, so they complain less about unsatisfactory working conditions. By supporting these huge companies we are not only harming the animals rights but we are allowing these companies to treat their employees with the same lack of respect as they have for the animals. I would now like to go on and explore an alternative meat processing industry, the organic one. People nowadays know that eating organic is usually better, not only does it taste better, but it is more beneficial for the environment, our health, and ethically.
ENG-101-W10 May 1, 2015 Less Meat, Yes Please! Imagine a world free from the shackles of human ignorance, simply by not eating meat one day a week. In his article, “A Meat Lover Says Yes to Meatless Monday,” Josh Ozersky points out that eating less meat one day a week not only improves the quality of our meat, it can also recuperate the meat industries. With unremitting population growth, Ozersky claims, the meat industries are struggling to keep up, and if demand cannot be met in a healthy, and responsible way, then maybe we should take a day off from it. That’s why Meat Lovers across the world should join the food movement and eat less meat.
This responsibility also needs to be the leading factor in the lawsuits that are being filed against fast food companies because of childhood obesity. We are all aware of the health risks associated with eating these kind of meals and although children are left with little choice at times as to what to prepare themselves for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there are healthier alternatives for preparing meals which are also cheaper to purchase than fast food. With all the information available on the Internet, brochures at fast food restaurants and other nutrition tips at these establishments we need to hold ourselves responsible for our health and stop blaming the fast food
By continuing to eat meat the issues of factory farming can not be fixed. There is a demand in the United States for meat, which allows the large scale factory farming. Converting to vegetarianism has many benefits and can help reduce the problems that are risings out of factory farming. This means that they need different types of nutrition’s. For example since their metabolism tend to burn the food faster they need some type of heavy food but not too heavy so soon their metabolism won’t be able to break it down; which will cause them to gain weight. Pollan does point out in his book how fast food is not very healthy and how it is a poor quality of food. I am here to correct what he said towards fast food. Fast food can be good for you if you eat the fast food correctly.
Diet For New America : Yahel Michaeli, Section# 3155 1. What are the main health problem and the main environment problem that the movie talks about? - The main health problem in the movie are : Heart diseases , diabetes , cholesterol, and breath cancer . The environment problems are water problems: to grow cows and authors animals for meat we need to use thousands of gallons of water, in that case lots of water are wasted the earth is getting dried and we will stay without water , also if people will stop to eat meat, there won't be so much pressure to grow more and more cows . The cows will live by their self , and we'll have more water for us and the whole environment.
I don’t think that I would want to go back to eating meat. If anything, I expect to learn new ways to overcome the various obstacles that may get in my way and become a stronger person for it. I see vegetarianism as a character builder as well as a sacrifice, but could also be a burden or viewed as a quirk. “Cardiovascular disease kills 1 million Americans anually and is the leading cause of death in the United States…” say Joel Fuhrman, MD author of Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss. (Vegetarian Times / Why Go Veg) There are many benefits to becoming a vegetarian.
Fats were within acceptable range. To achieve her goal and keep other nutrients in balance, she will eat more meat for protein and eat more foods like grits, bread, and fries to balance her carbohydrates. Protein Complete or Incomplete Keneisha’s protein is incomplete because her recommended daily intake for protein was not within acceptable range. This fact is important because not getting enough protein causes her to be tired often. Daily Recommended Intake Keneisha’s daily recommended intake for protein was 44g and should have been 58g-204g, which means her DRI is below range.
The addictive and yet fattening qualities associated with fast food leave people constantly craving one more bite. However, Schlosser makes a decent point in the epilogue section of his book when he states that under no circumstances is anyone actually forced to purchase and consume fast food products and those who desire change should simply "stop buying it" (Pg. 269). No matter how many excuses the fast food industry or average consumer comes up with, consuming fast food is just not worth the endless list of consequences
Rochdi Ammar DRE-098-N2 Zaneta summers 15 April, 2014 Eat Healthy! Diet and nutrition form the major determinants of population health. Across America, majority of people do not comply with recommendations regarding intakes of energy, sodium, fruits, saturated fat, and vegetables. The extent to which food is available determines the eating habits. Because food availability depends on an individual’s capacity to buy or produce the food, financial power will determine what kinds of foods one can get; therefore, the rich will access most of the foods as the poor struggle to them or lack them after all.
