The majority of new laws or changes to existing laws come from government but the can also come from MP’s, Lords or even a member of the public. E.g. ‘Sarah’s Law’. Both the House of Commons and House of Lords must debate and vote on the proposals. 2.

Was it the strength of the government's response, or the weaknesses of the movement, that led to the failure of Chartism to achieve its aims in the short term? Chartism was a very complex movement, and there are many factors, major and minor, associated as to why it failed. 2 major factors were weaknesses of the movement and the governments response to the movement. A few minor factors included the socio-economic condition at the different stages of chartism and how that affected its support also. However it can be seen that the governments power and authority could be the main reason as to why Chartism failed in short term to achieve it’s many aims.
While some citizens would prefer that governmental leaders implement spending cuts while others would favor an increase in revenue, as a practical matter the country’s precarious financial situation cannot be addressed exclusively by just one of these options. (Bartels). The electoral process is rather difficult due to its complex organization. It requires the parties that share it to create valid political campaigns that would be quite persuasive. Usually, the election represents the competition between two major parties – the Democratic and Republican.
The main role of any Spartan woman was to produce healthy children who would grow to be the warriors and wives of warriors in the future. Spartan women were not citizens, but enjoyed social privilege and had social and economic freedoms not enjoyed by other women in Greece. Girls were publicly, though informally educated. They were encouraged to undertake exercise. According to Plutarch, Spartan women were encouraged to ‘exercise themselves with wrestling, running, throwing the quoit, and casting the dart, to the ende that the fruit they conceived might, in strong and healthy bodies, take firmer root and find better growth,…they, with this greater vigour, might be able to undergo the pains of childbearing’.
They would find it outrages since it would be unorthodox to their teachings. With the different viewpoints and knowledge levels of the people today, it would not be a surprise to see varies people agree or disagree with cultural relativism. Given a position of one of the two views in the world today, I believe many would side with the idea that seems morally right even though a small group believes it’s the right thing to do. For example, she gives a scenario in which between two different civilizations. One of the civilizations was the Greeks who practiced cremation for the dead while the other civilization, the Callatians, believed in Cannibalism of eating the dead.
Although there was changed tactics and a greater push from suffrage organisations to achieve the vote, it in some cases in fact alienated politicians and the public. As source 13 states “we have been told that we cannot have the same political rights which men have won unless we convert the whole country to our side”. This source being written by Emmeline Pankhurst means it very useful as it shows how people directly involved felt about what the suffrage movement had achieved, and from the implications of this source that was very little. If the leader of the WSPU claims herself that the movement is not making ‘substantial progress’ then it is very difficult to argue against this. They were beginning to make headway however this was still a long way to go before the movement had made substantial enough progress to gain the
They can raise and lower it. If they wanted to make it higher or lower, they could. This is usually the most important piece because people don’t want to pay taxes, even if it is to benefit the country. Having our money taken away is not what people want without good reason. Our representatives have to decide on what the cost of improvement is and if the people really want or need it.
GANGSTA VERSION OF THE 3 LITTLE PIGS At first there was 4 little pigs, they were all brothers. The oldest Hammy was the leader of their gang the Porkchops. The second oldest was named Bacon; he was always the ladies man of the gang. The third oldest was named Hot Dog he was the cocky one in their gang and was always running his mouth off to guys a lot bigger than him. The youngest pig was named Piglet; this little pig was always wanting to be just like his brothers and wanting to do everything with them.
On the other hand, it is my opinion that student athletes should not be paid; because, scholarships usually cover a big deal of expenses, it would be unfair to their peers, and most colleges and money could change the way a
