He became absolutely obsessed with hunting and killing pigs. At first it really was just to feed all of the boys, but more towards the end of the story it was for the please of killing the pig to feel powerful and pure primeval. Allowing Jack to become this kind of monster was another mistake that the boys made. Because once he changed other boys started to follow until it was just Ralph and Piggy by themselves and all other boys were in Jack’s tribe. Of course then Piggy was killed.
Appearance affects Maya throughout her life as a guiding force in which she makes decisions. Growing up Maya was constantly told how ugly she was. Unlike her, Bailey Jr, Mayas brother, was a stud. The boys’ savage show that they are savages by how the pigs are killed. At first Jack wouldn’t even scratch the pig but now the boys brutally murder the pig they were hunting. “The sow gives a gasping squeal and staged with two spears striking in her fat flank. Jack was on top of the sow, stabbing downward with his knife. Roger found a lodgment for his point and began pushing until he was leaning with his whole weight”.
“Then he danced down the road, to see how his brothers were getting along”. He is quickly used to progress plot wise to the next little pig followed by the progression of character in the second little pig. The description of the second little pig is considerably longer, but interestingly combines and compares the first and second little pig. “He did not like to work any better than his brother, so he had decided to build a quick and easy house of sticks”. The relation does not stop with
One argument that stands out the most in the novel and eventually decides who will win the power struggle is the debate over the windmill. “But of all the controversies none was so bitter as the one that took place over the windmill”. Here we see the power struggle at its worst and this happens very soon into the novel in chapter five. Furthermore the windmill debate lead to the exile of snowball by napoleon. “They dashed straight for snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws” This shows that even before the windmill had come into play napoleon had reared these puppies to be aggressive dogs and to get rid of snowball.
The only reason they voted for Ralph was because he had the conch. This shows how important the conch was to all the kids at first, but as the boys became more and more savage the conch started to be worthless to them, along with civilization and order. The conch was originally a powerful symbol of civilization and leadership, but the boys stopped caring about it, so they stopped caring about the last bit of civilization they still had. There was still a small sense of civilization left in all the children that kept that kept them from becoming total savages. But that was lost when Roger killed Piggy and destroyed the conch.

Squealer has all the characteristics of a successful orator; he is charismatic, intelligent, emotional, persuasive, and even hypnotic. He shed tears when speaking about Boxer's death, convinced the animals to lower their food rations, and as he walked to and fro, his tail "moved in a way which was very persuasive." Squealer's name suits him appropriately. Since a pig's primary vocalization is squealing, Squealer squeals nonsense and betrays his animals. While pigs like Napoleon and Snowball are allegorically Stalin and Trotsky, respectively, Squealer has a less definitive role.
This god was Isis, who embodied fertility. The black pig was thought to be associated with her brother and opponent, Seth. Who was thought to be responsible for the obstruction of the sun during an eclipse. Pigs, who natured for their young, was a symbol of fertility and abundance in many other cultures such as the Celts and Hindu culture. A Celtic lore tells a story of a man named Manannan who owned a heard of pigs who’s numbers never dwindled and forever replenished.
One could be “more colorful” than the other. Just like some animals on the farm were “more equal”. In Animal Farm, after Major dies everything about the farm prospers. But Napoleon and Snowball battle for power, and when Napoleon wins that battle, everything goes down the drain from there. The pigs get to make all the decisions and no other animal can say or do anything about it without getting slaughtered.
