Describe some of the factors which act as barriers to the developing world. How have individual countries been able to overcome them? There are many reasons why LEDC’s are poor, they act as barriers which stops these countries from developing. The five main factors to explain why LEDC’s are in this position are social, political, economic, natural and technological. Some of these countries have been able to overcome these problem which will be included in this essay. Socially there are two factors in the social section, death rate and the infant mortality rate. In 2003 the age of marriage in Madagascar was 14 for women and 17 for men and the age in Zimbabwe men the minimum age is 18 and a woman 16These countries have put these ages in place not too long ago.
