Social networking Children and young people should understand not to post personal details such as their home address and phone number, mobile number, school name and where they meet as this makes it easy for them to be identified and makes them easy targets for exploitation from adults. It is important to stress not to meet anyone you have only been in touch with online unless they have your permission and you are present when they do. Explain that what goes online stays online, so do not put pictures or say anything that may cause embarrassment to you or someone else. Be aware of what personal details and activities friends post about you too. Use privacy settings to restrict strangers’ access to your profile, allow only friends and family
