I know a care assistance can make a huge difference in the care of the patient and always the care assistant is the bridge between the patient-nurse-doctors and family as is more in direct contact with the patient. Always I try to use what I learn from my mistakes, training, colleagues and the outcomes of the organisations as CQC and the commission bodies which regulate the National Health Care. To enumerate the duties I have
Academic and Professional Goals Alan M. Gavami Walden University Dr. Miriam Ross Academic and Professional Goals Currently, I make positive societal change with one patient at a time by showing genuine care and understanding of how they are different with different needs. This is one reason of several that I chose Walden University, since Walden has a keen awareness and teaching on multicultural competence, I find this to be Paramount. Managers in today’s healthcare environment are much more involved in management, planning, cost containment and efficiency, while providing a better work environment for the hospital staff, and better care for the patients and their family. The skills I expect to gain through getting my master’s with Walden University should give me the ability to recognize and understand problems we face on daily bases in the healthcare system. With this knowledge I plan to work toward a more cost effective and delivery system with healthcare provided to the patient population.
Leadership in Nursing Essential to quality patient care is the effective functioning of an interdisciplinary team. In most clinical settings, nurses have the closest relationship with patients. For that reason nurses need to take an active role in the interdisciplinary team, they are the front line providers, ensure communication between team members and the patient, and continually advocate for the patient and family. Nurses know how care should be delivered. They can ensure smooth handoffs as the patient transitions through the continuum.
Through consistent philosophy, all health care providers will strike to deliver high quality care. The leading process of best practice in nursing is through Evidenced-Based Practice (EBP). EBP is defined as “doing the right things right”, (Gray 1997, cited in Craig & Smyth 2007, p.4). This definition illustrates the importance of ensuring that best practice is being done in the right manner which reflects directly through nursing practice in different aspects of patients’ care (Houser and Oman 2011). Moreover, Sackett et al.
It is imperative that healthcare managers recruit diverse leaders and embrace cultural competency. Witt/Kieffer conducted a survey nationally in 2011 to illustrate that diversity leadership in healthcare organizations today. (Witt/Kieffer, 2011) Witt/Kieffer is a national firm that was founded in 1969 and specializes in non-for-profit organizations, higher education, and healthcare. The mission is to recognize leadership solutions for organizations that are designed to improve the quality of life such as health systems, hospitals, medical centers, medical schools, colleges, universities, and community service organizations. Each year Witt/Kieffer conducts about 400 search assignments and research projects for presidents, CEOs, CFOs, and COOs to assist these organizations in becoming better.
The profession of physiotherapy is a client-centered service providing safe, quality treatment acting with integrity, accountability and judgment. Being a clinical researcher I believe that I am held to the same standards as I am working with sensitive information and working with clients who place their trust in me. A physiotherapist’s practice may involve a variety of clients, ranging in age and health conditions, which allows them to exercise independent professional judgment with each unique case. My work experience thus far has challenged me to take on unique client cases that required plans and collaboration with other healthcare members. Overall, physiotherapy is a service designed to achieve optimal health outcomes and utilize resources efficiently and safely.
It is a gratifiying yet humbling experience. This position has inspired me to further my education, so I can be able to extend resources and knowledge to my patients and collaboratively work with my peers to meet patient goals. The potential is endless in this field, from specialty areas to general population, and from newborns through geriatrics. Nursing is probably the most personally rewarding job there is. For the people I will care for, I will see myself making a difference, whether it is bringing physical, emotional, or spiritual comfort.
We also, could not do our job without the fantastic input from the many voluntary organisations working within the hospital such as multi faith leaders and support groups. It is important that all of these individuals work closely together to provide an holistic approach to the care the patients need and receive. You should strive to be courteous and trustworthy ensuring that you are able to give excellent verbal and written instructions and able to follow these instructions as prompted by others where your skill set allows. Showing the necessary willingness to continually improve your skill level is also paramount. 1.
Better Teamwork, Better Patient Care Sabrina Haight Baker College of Cadillac Better Teamwork, Better Patient Care A health care team has a duty to provide effective, quality care in order to enhance the health and well-being of its patients. Every professional on that team has different roles to play in providing that standard of care. These roles range from CNA to nurse to physician, with many other interdisciplinary roles as well, like paramedic, respiratory therapist, or social worker. Each person has distinct expertise and skills to contribute that can be applied to the patient’s care. Organization and cooperation must be integrated into the team to ensure that needs of the patient are adequately met.
I will then discuss how I will use these skills to improve my future learning development. To engage in the reflective process it is essential to understand and define the concept of reflection. Spalding (1998) and Johns (1993) both explain reflection as a means of learning from practice and experience. This suggests that reflective practice enables us to look at our experiences and learn from them, therefore allowing us to put our acquired knowledge into practice. Ghaye et al (2000, pg 6) explain “reflection has the potential to transform both who we are and what we are able to do, for and with others in our healthcare worlds”.
