August 8, 2011 Cold War and Civil Rights Movement The Cold War was a war that wasn’t your typical war. There weren’t any fighter planes flying over any countries dropping bombs, no tanks or troops being deployed, and no missiles. However there were a stockpile of nuclear weapons, money was being spent like an actually war was being fought; propaganda and the two superpower enemies but there were no actually fighting being done. The Cold War was a big arms race but started after World War II between the United States and the Soviet Union (USSR) however, surely the alliance that was between the USSR and the United States wouldn’t last. In 1968 King himself was assassinated and many riots broke out over 100 sites, because of his death. Yes, African American can have the right same right the white do with voting and be elected to public office. Having the right to the same education as a white person does. Protection against discrimination extended to social group membership by, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, and age. This would also include women, disabled and many others. American Civil Rights Movement has left a permanent mark on American Society as a whole. With all the different types of racial discrimination, that there has been and racial violence over the century. The Civil Rights Movement has been successful to a point, but we still have a way to go on many issues. There has been many short falls on many counts, and the fight for quality is far from over for the African Americans. They will struggle to achieve anything that they want to endure in their lives. This will profoundly changed people’s attitudes of Americans and at least make it possibility for Civil Right Movement gets better as time goes
