How Did Communism Affect Different Social Classes in China? Ever since I heard the word “communism”, I wanted to know its meaning. I keep hearing it from here and there but I never actually knew what does it mean until we started talking about china and its communist party. It interested me so much, specifically in China; because in my opinion, it is a controversial issue, because of the impacts on the society that it has left and the huge inequality it created in the society. How does a country apply communist as major policy when most of the world say that it is not even a reality, but a dream? That is why I chose this as a topic to my paper. The purpose of this research paper is to discuss the idea of communism, to give a general background and then a specific one of communism. Moreover, to know how did communism first came to China, how did people react to it, how did it affect the chinese people and most importantly, how did it create inequality between the different social classes in China, from rich to the poor. Nevertheless, which social class did it affect most? Communism is the idea of a classless society; a society in which there are no distinctions between social classes and where all government systems are abolished. A communist society normally aims to allow individuals to obtain a common political status. Furthermore, property and resources in a communist country are collectively owned by a classless society and not by individual citizens. In general, communism disagrees with old traditions of social classes. When communism develops in a society, social classes become affected. Communism affects the social classes in such a way that the distinction of the rich and the poor is lessened, and an unequal distribution of wealth between the social classes leads to a rebellion.
