Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults Explain why effective communication is important in developing positive relationships with: * Children * Young people * Adults Effective communication is fundamental in building positive and better enable to build strong relationships with children, young people and adults alike. Working with children requires us to build relationships with them quickly When children feel comfortable, safe & secure around settings with us they can separate more easily from their parents and children are more likely to participate in the play and learning activities if they are secure emotionally they are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we are able to recognise and meet their needs much more efficiently. Without a positive and supportive attitude there will be no trust and honesty between yourself and the children. They will not feel like they can talk to you which may mean they could be keeping something important inside, which could affect their learning or social skills We would not like to be spoken to in a negative way so therefore we should also be careful of how we speak to others too. Having effective communication has a positive outcome in many different ways. One of which is trust; once trust is built with a student many other things fall into place. Building trust through positive communication allows students to feel they are able to discuss different concerns they may have, which they feel can only be discussed with those they can trust to either help them, show understanding and support or simply be there as a shoulder to cry on in order for them to get things of their chestSome pupils that struggle with their learning and/or have confidence issues may find that they can’t communicate with all of us, therefore, treating that pupil in a calm, positive,
