Biblical Worldview Taylor Callahan Bibl/110 April 10, 2014 Liberty University Online Biblical Worldview Essay A biblical worldview is seeing how things are and have always been through time. This is also described often times as having a Christian worldview, by knowing that the true purpose on earth is to serve and love the Lord. I believe that having a biblical worldview is extremely important, because without it we would not have a moral compass to guide us on our path to righteousness in God’s eyes. Romans 1-8 was written by the apostle Paul, and display certain characteristics of the world that are still relevant in the world today. In Romans, it speaks of the sin involved between people, by jealousy, hatrid, violence, and lust. A person living in sin often sought after what they believe is best for them, not mindful of what it may do to others. “Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.” (Romans 5:18) This is stating that although Adam and Eve sinned in the beginning, by eating the forbidden fruit, and opening up the punishment for our sins, God also sent his son Jesus to earth for us to be saved from them sins. The most important relationship that we can have is our relationship with Christ. “So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.” (Romans 7:4) By not giving into our sins and seeking God’s word, we can strengthen all of our relationships and learn from others as that was the purpose in populating the…show more content…
Sin had taken over, and there was no sense of structure for the people. “They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.” (Romans 1:29-31) God is angered by the people who know Him, and are supposed to be his children and are still living as the people who do not know Him, and are accepting of these behaviors. The problem with the culture during this time, is that they were living as if there were no God, and they had removed him from their lives. God speaks on this by saying he allowed them to give in to their sins, and live the way they wanted, but he sentenced them to eternal death. This is still his promise to us today, that if we give into our sins, and do not live for him, he will not save us from ourselves. Paul reminds the people again that the only way to eternal life is through the son, Jesus
