Running Head: Worldview Assignment A Biblical Worldview Reba Dockery Liberty University Running Head: Worldview Assignment A worldview is a framework of ideas, values and attitudes about the world around us. It is an opinion of what we hold to believe is right and wrong to bring about decision-making. We should seek knowledge and trust our emotions about what we believe to be true. Our worldview will determine how we respond to life’s most important questions. There are many important questions we can ask ourselves to determine our worldview. According to biblical worldview to the question of origin, every Christian believes this simple fact: God created the heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1). There is sufficient evidence to support that God exists and the Bible makes far more sense than other alternatives. God’s word reaffirms our existence time and time again, as when God says He made the earth and created mankind (Isaiah 45:12). As for the question of identity, the Bible states that there is both a spiritual and physical part of man (1 Corinthians 15:45-49). It also states that we are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). Our identity is determined by who we are in Christ. I believe our purpose on this earth is, first and foremost, to bring glory to God in all that we do (Acts 10:42). We are also to be prophets to all nations to proclaim His glory and be a witness so that others will come to know Him (Jeremiah 1:5). The world has many different standards of morals and ethics. The Bible’s view of morals is very specific (Mark 7:20-23). Our morals should be based on the Holy standards God has set for us and we are to use Christ as our example (Phillippians 2:1-4). Although each of the preceding questions has caused much debate, the question of destiny is the most disagreed upon topics of this world. Christians believe there are two
