The officers and management team should be held accountable for the actions that they did not take to help the victim. However, commanders wanted the numbers to decrease to show that implementing this system could reduce crimes. The crime should have reported properly and actions should have been taken. The commanders in the situation should make sure that officers understand the importance of protecting and serving their districts and helping citizens feel safe in their neighborhoods. Instead of staying in a darkened room, the commanders should be training their officers on how to combat this action and help actual reduce the crimes not cover them up.
Many abandon building are being boarded up to help prevent addicts and sales and or prostitution. Many drug dealers are arguing of the invasion of privacy when police are found tapping prevent the war on drugs and save lives. We need officers to step up and do a better job of stopping these crimes because it’s tearing our city apart. Officers do a great job of being there to give out parking tickets but very seldom are around when homicide crimes are in action. If we increase the number of officers in the city we would be able to scatter around the city more and be able to react to action quicker. The city could get a federal grant to hire more officers and the Detroit citizens need more jobs available so
Every conflict has its significant implications on administrative and departmental officer procedures. The mainly problem that always occurring is the physical brutality, which the main goal is to get the police department to enforce and adopt a written policy. However, polices limiting actions will bring most of debate especially from the police officers themselves. “Many feel that their firepower is already too weak to battle the weapons criminals have on the streets, and limiting their legality of gun use will not only endanger them, but the innocent bystanders who must endure the hierarchy gun power creates in the benefit of criminals.” (Bouza, Anthony. 1990) It’s necessary to ask help from the superior officers so that a tolerance of brutality will not establish.
They lied about getting a warrant and in turn let a killer walk away from the situation with no punishment. Like I said previously if they would have used the ethics of virtue system they would have went about things in an honest manner and even though it might not have saved the life of Detective Griffiths it would have put his killer in jail. Ethics training for our officers is very important to maintain order (Papenfuhs,2011). However, when really spending some time and thinking about this situation I wish our legal system could in some way take into account the pressure we put on cops and when we know for an absolute fact a serious crime as been committed that the criminal could still be punished regardless of the mistakes of cops. I don’t think the people should be able to get off that easy simply because of a legal mishap and in fact disgusts me that his has happens numerous times every year.
For instance, police officers would begin cracking down on smaller crimes such as kicking vendors out of unissued areas in the hopes that it would somehow eliminate drug sales or theft. Because of this theory, many people were getting in trouble by the law for things they previously did without thinking twice. I think that in short term, this theory can truly be beneficial because of its hands on action. However, in the long run, crime will happen no matter what because people will rebel due to the strictness of these officers. This theory has gotten much support, but because of its intensity it has also received some criticism.
1. I do believe CRASH is an important unit that needed to be created in order to understand how gangs worked from the inside. 2. There should not be a different recruiting or supervision of a unit like this because working a dangerous job like this calls for people that have been involved with crime in their past and already have an understanding of what it is like. These certain people also call for a great amount of street smarts to go along with their professionalism.
The 18th amendment contributed to the rise of organized crime because it created a lot of underground business. From killings to people living in poverty, that’s what the prohibition caused. If people really thought that prohibiting alcohol to be sold leally were going to help the way that people lived during this time, they were wrong. A lot of people were against the law, they argued that if they banned alcohol legal businesses were going to go broke and that was not going to help the economy get better. But alcohol was not the only thing breaking families apart they said, after the war, soldiers would come home and find themselves in a whole, struggling to find jobs.
Taking away people’s right to own firearms, as Dwyer notes, is a calculated move aimed at leaving the people with no free will. Americans are no longer safe because Liberalism and its ideologies has done away with the safety measures that were aimed at keeping criminals in jail, deporting illegal migrants who are known for their unlawful activities and ensuring that mental patients remain in hospitals. These people are now freely loaming the streets, endangering people’s lives and instead of preventing and stopping this from happening, the government is only keen at imposing the gun-control law on law-abiding citizens.
