Detroit is a big city with a big history. There were so many amazing things that happened in Detroit. Detroit city could be a very nice city still and one of the great tour cities but the crime rate keeps people out. According to a news report by Detroit Police, “the murder rate in the city is up 15 percent from last year at this time” and we still have another month left. We need officers to step up and do a better job of stopping these crimes because it’s tearing our city apart. Officers do a great job of being there to give out parking tickets but very seldom are around when homicide crimes are in action. If we increase the number of officers in the city we would be able to scatter around the city more and be able to react to action quicker. The city could get a federal grant to hire more officers and the Detroit citizens need more jobs available so…show more content…
Of all the police around Detroit, you would think they would respond quicker. They now have a law that in order for a police officer to respond to a burglary, they have to get approval from the alarm company that a crime has taken place. What if a house doesn’t have an alarm system? Would they be out of luck? From the law they passed, the police wouldn’t be able to respond. It is said by the Detroit police that 98% of the alarms they respond to are false alarms. That’s an ok law to have but what if the robber was still in the house and the officers are waiting to see if it is true, those few minutes can cause someone their life. We need to edit that law to make it to where the police may respond but if it is a false alarm then a small penalty ticket of 10 dollars is given, that’s not an amount that is hard to pay. This will have people making sure it is surely a robbery going on instead of calling because of noises. This will help the police force with the problem of false
