First of all, I believe I have improvement to do across the board. I don’t think there is an area within the whole profile I felt I have mastered. Conversely, I have some skill in each area; I’m on a journey, and have work to do but experience to pull from. Completing the training on 7 Habits of Highly Effective People was tremendously valuable and introduced me to Covey’s 7 Habits framework. I immediately recognized that I had work to do in the Private Victory triangle. His style is a bit more abrupt that I am used to. My reaction to his pressure was to “dig my heels in” and push back on his pressure. I justified my resistance a variety of ways, but ultimately my reaction prevented me from constructively participating in the conversation for a few minutes. It was only after I had a chance to think about my reaction. I realized I was having an emotional reaction, and I was able to start to manage from there. However, it literally took minutes for me to get to that realization. This is an area where I need to spend
