Unit 1: Communicating Clearly Sub-unit #1 Learning The Basics A. Working toward better communication: Communication is the most important tool when in business. It can also be used in the social world aspect. Having clear and presentable communication will lead you into a branch of networks. Making contact: To greet or ending a meeting can lead to great success. Initial greeting should be as welcoming and positive. I say first impressions leave a big mark, make sure you keep a big smile and a good attitude. Using culture and set it with traditions, some Asian countries do not shake hands. They bow to each one another and keep little very eye contact. When ending a meeting leave a off on a good note with leaving a warm note, this helps ensure your next meeting is not forgotten. Make a good impact when upon meeting new people, this is a huge gain in networking. B. Passing Information: Informing others of new sought information is of great importance. Letting others know what you think what effort you take on making information important so they can pay attention. Never doubt to pass on the good news, good news is always lively and should be passed on. When giving or receiving feedback, make sure has to reasons for those feedbacks. Having reasons why gives you the problems a person needs to work on. A person strength and weakness should be known in order to make them a better person. Compiling Reports: Reports are formal documentation that are going to be read by others. Please be sure to be very accurate information and the structuring behind is very laid out. When writing a report make sure you meet the requirements that is needed to be written. Be clear and avoid making unsupported assertions or conclusions. Make sure to emphasize your most important findings or facts. Make sure your that you report can be backed with great sourcing. H. Writing Proposals: A proposal in a nutshell is a report that you are trying to sell. Try to persuade readers in what you are trying to sell. It could either be an opinion or any physical items. Explain in great detail as to why it is needed and how it will contribute to a company. Make a plan of action, how will your proposal take place and what is needed to achieve it. After your report make sure you follow up for those of concerned. Making everyone know that you are dedicated into what your proposal meant. I. Making A Visual Impact: Make people pay attention to your work by adding visuals! Who wants to read a page of words? Well that boring show some images, graphs, maybe even something funny. Catch the readers attention before they even know that they are reading your very bland work. Add something meaningful to headlines and captions so it grabs peoples attention.
