The threat of terrorist attacks changed American culture immensely; the devastation wakened the need for protection and a sense of security. Dramatic measures were taken in order to protect this country, so foreign relations were severely affected. Post 9/11 government saw the “link between immigration and security”, and that by changing foreign policy it would “reduce the likelihood of future attacks” (Krikorian 567).The safety measure in airports were countless from metal detectors to full body scans. “The immigration system has being penetrated by the enemy”, the officials realized which led to unfair accusation of innocents (Krikorian 568). “Overzealous officials” grill suspicious foreigners “to the point of near panic” (Khan 559).
As previously noted, these pertain to those who sponsor the research, those who collect the data, and those who offer them. The sponsors should ask for the study to be done to better the purpose of the organization, and not for any other self-serving reason. They should respect the confidentiality of the data obtained by the researcher, and not ask for the individual or group responses to be disclosed to them, or ask to see the questionnaires. They should have an open mind in accepting the results and recommendations in the report presented by the researchers.” (p.
“The worldwide outbreak of revolution against colonialism and imperialism, the entrenchment of totalitarian states, menace of war, overpopulation, international disorder, and super technology” (177) all these things too were contributing factors to the decline of the nation. All of these things shattered our view of the perfect world but we chose to respond to these
This weakness is one that will always be evident in the future of all warfare until the end of time. Due to the unconventional nature of the war on terror, lack of reliable intelligence is even more detrimental to our victory than ever before. However, technology advances have increased the efficiency and speed with which our forces can obtain intelligence information, though the sharing of this information between different entities is a problem that still persists. Since September 11th, the U.S. has adopted several new policies which improve the process of sharing intelligence between agencies, and the prospect of this issue becoming less prevalent is becoming a
Jennifer Hicks analyzes the imagery and juxtaposition that Ray Bradbury uses to portray the negative ways that humanity and technology are compared to nature. She describes human tendencies to be destructive towards each other through technology and machinery and towards nature because of “the loss of human values to the ease that machines create” (Hicks 2). Hicks also explains that the “juxtaposition of unrelated images” (2) reveals that the seemingly beneficial aspects of technology might not have the positive effect that is expected. According to Hicks, Bradbury has an obvious “preference for nature” (2) over technology. Her arguments prove Bradbury’s fear that mankind's technological abilities along with their desire for knowledge will lead to their eventual destruction.
In Ray Bradbury's short story "There will come Soft Rains" technology negatively influences society. Ray Bradbury demonstrates the technology can and will lead to war, pain, and laziness. To begin, mankind’s misuse of technology leads to their end. Humans were so thoughtless and selfish that they fought until "a radioactive glow could be seen for miles" (Bradbury 90). Mankind was consumed with technology they ended up not thinking of the damage they could cause with a nuclear war.

Human health alone is not the full extent of the problems related to genetically engineered foods. The effects that the pesticides have on our environment are also a major concern. Dangerous toxins are excreted into our water supply. That alone should be enough to raise some eyebrows, but there’s still even more. Large companies have totally neglected any responsibility to what is best for the common good, and have greedily taken advantage of our capitalist country to increase their own personal wealth at the expense of others.

All in all, we are really putting the environment and our lives in danger by using fracking. There can be cleaner alternative fuel sources that we could use rather than fracking. Also, the chemicals and water used in the fracking process can be used for better purposes than harming the environment, such as hydroelectric energy. Fracking poses as a serious threat and if it continues, America will be in a very dangerous
