Williams is truly a gift that only comes sparingly to one. Often we are stuck with teachers who think they know things but are actually filled with false knowledge. But, Mrs. Williams was genuine and honest. One could say that she had a very knowledgeable vibe about her. I believe Mrs. Williams left an impact on every child who was blessed enough to have her.
Leigh was very sporty and athletic with green eyes and brown golden hair and always managed to maintain an A average in her studies on top of her busy sports schedule. Julia and Leigh were both on the year book committee and the school council together. Almost every single day in and after school they were together. They always stood beside each other and stood up for one another. In the hall one day Jamie Jadestone one of the most popular girls in school came over to Julia and tried to start trouble, but to bad Julia is a smart cookie and can get herself out of bad situations she just simply said “Get out of the way” and walked on and that was in between second and third hour time and Jamie was in Julia’s next class.
Jasmine is a productive and wonderful girl , she is very friendly to everyone that she meets she is intelligent as well. Jasmine tries her hardest in all her subjects. Never gives up and any assignment that is given to her. She always strives to get higher then an 85 as a grade , and if she fails to complete her goal she will get mad and try even harder to get the grade she wants. For instance in her algebra class , when her teacher explains the way to solve the problem or what ever they may be learning that day she would understand it the first time she hears him explain it.
She does not teach her students like other teachers, but she has her own way to help her students gain more knowledge and some skills in their life. The three most important things in her teaching are letting her students teach each other, encouraging her students to work with others, and letting them know the importance of communication. First, while reading a Corla Hawkins story, I was so impressed with her teaching because she knows what is the most important of teaching method. She is not a teacher who only teaches her students in her class, but also gets students to teach each other. In her sentence, “The most important thing for me is that they teach each other” (33).
Everything else she mentioned was positive and she appreciated the friendly staff. 4/17/14 She stepped outside the room and I let her know that she should always have her clipboard turned over for confidential reasons. Cheryl did a great job of staying engaged with not only the patients, but wits and staff as well. Even though she was making rounds, she always asked everyone else if they needed anything. She usually finishes her rounds early, so she enjoys helping out other people on her down time.
She would let her imagination run wild and this kept her spirit alive. Many people who look back at her story today admire Anne for her strength and optimism. Anne usually felt like “the world was slowly being transformed into a wilderness”, but she never gave up hope. She believed, “that everything would change for the better and that the cruelty would end”. Her writing revealed creativity, wisdom, and depth of emotion.
Her primary carer knows not to call her Sam and she prefers to be called Samantha, she is quite a quiet person and doesn’t like doing new things until her carer made her observe a knitting class, Samantha enjoyed it so much she decided to part-take, she won’t a certificate for the best knit blanket and she felt accomplished, this was her reward. Melinda sees The Marthas as an exclusive group of girls with bad attitudes, while the teachers see the exact opposite. All of the teachers and faculty think The Marthas are great and caring. After reading the entire essay, it is clear that the general topic of “On Being a Cripple” is to be content and proud of what you do or do not have. By not calling herself ‘disabled,’ she shows great respect for the fact that she is able to do many things. She does not always let her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) keep her from being herself on a daily basis. Although she admits to having her bad days, she is defiant in the fact that this disease is just a part of life. We all go through life.
On the seventh page of the book, Ruby is focused on doing her work in an isolated classroom; Ruby seemed to ignore the fact that she was isolated and fully immersed herself in her textbooks. This makes the reader react with admiration due to the fact that she values education highly to the extent that she does not care about not having friends. Based on these two texts, we can see that the documentary represents education as the only key to a better future, while in the picture book, education is treated as a step to encourage racial equality and a new change to the racially segregated society of America in the 60s.
