We have more children living in poverty than total residents in 33 states. This is astounding to think about. I did not even realize that our poverty levels were that high. It makes no sense some of the things the US spends money on when we have children living in extreme poverty. It is time to take care of our own people and stop worrying about fighting another nations battles spending money protect them instead of protecting our children. Poverty is a real thing that exists and needs to be looked at in a more serious light. The government allows this to exist. We need to stand up and make a difference for the future generations. If we keep allowing this to take place, it will be passed onto future children. If we don’t do something to stop the cycle it will become even bigger. We need to provide out children and their parents with more income so they can properly feed their family. The rich just want to keep getting richer and the poor get poorer. People need to have more empathy for others and realize the lives they live. It would be tough to have to watch your children cry because they are hungry and you can do nothing about it. The future lies within each of us. We need to put our heads together to stop hunger. We need to stop putting so much money into prisons and weapons and start putting food into the mouths of the poor. It would be nice to be able to provide a secure place for all, where they feel safe and do not feel agonizing hunger pains all the time. This place could exist within the US, but our government chooses to spend money on others things that they think are more important because they aren't going
