Often times literature has a deeper meaning and it can also represent events that have happened in the past. Although George Orwells novella “Animal Farm” is known for being an allegory to the Russian Revolution and how power can be used for good or absolute evil, it is also similar to how things are in North Korea.“Animal Farm” is about a group of animals who rebel against the farmer, Mr. Jones, and create their own type of government called Animalism. As the story progresses the new leader of the farm becomes more like a dictator, but all the other animals don’t seem to realize what is actually going on. They believe that they are living in a utopia, but it’s more of a dystopia. It is very similar to the way things are in North Korea because they also rebelled against their government and appointed a new leader.

In Orwell’s allegorical novella Animal _Farm _that character Napoleon is portrayed as envious, secretive and power hungry towards the other animals in the farm; particularly Snowball where there is a battle for power. His character is greatly explored through the techniques and language that Orwell uses. This novel relates to the Russian revolution and shows how greed and ignorance can destroy the lives of innocent bystanders. Orwell has written in an intriguing and captivating style that makes the reader want to continue deeper into enlightening fairytale of the Russian Revolution.
There is some immediate conflict between two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball. For a while they work together to help liberate the farm, but soon napoleon starts behaving rather oddly doing things like: drinking the milk which the animals had gathered and stealing away bluebell and Jessie’s puppies for himself. He manages to turn all of the other animals on snowball and takes control of the farm himself. He ‘alters’ the seven commandments and by the end you cannot tell the difference between the humans and the animals. The entire book is an allegory for the Russian revolution; he uses small metaphors to symbolize some of the things which happened during the Russian revolution.
The rebellion itself is led by two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball who are inspired by Old Major, the old pig. However, because Napoleon does not like Snowball, he makes a plan to put Snowball away from the farm. According to Orwell, this story has a reflection of Russian Revolution of 1917. What have you found interesting about Orwell’s presentation of power in the novel? How does Orwell’s presentation of power reflect ideas about society? In this essay I will be exploring the aspects of power in Animal Farm that George Orwell presents most interestingly and how they relate to the Russian Revolution of 1917. In Animal Farm, Orwell presents power as a key theme. He presents power to be abused through the character of Mr Jones, who represents Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, the last Tsar of Russia whom the Russian public rebelled against.
Tsar Nicholas II who resembles Mr. Jones in Animal Farm; was soon removed from power by riots and violence; just as Mr. Jones was chased off the farm by the animals by a series of violence and riots, both because of neglect. Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky represent Napoleon and Snowball from “Animal Farm”, they both became leaders of the Russian revolution after Karl Marx (Old Major) died just like Napoleon and Snowball became leaders of “Animal Farm” after Old Major passed away. Joseph represent Napoleon very well because they were both not very good speakers and didn’t want to follow anyone else’s ideas they wanted to have all the power and do thing their way, they both loved power so much they would kill anyone who would disagree to them. They also both used different types military forces to control Joseph used KGB just as Napoleon used Moses, Squealer, and dogs.

The use of the dogs begins the evil use of force, which helps Napoleon maintain power. Later, the dogs do even more immoral things when they are instructed to kill the animals labeled “disloyal.” Stalin, too, had his own special force of “helpers.”Really there are followers loyal to any politician or government leader, but Stalin in particular needed a special police force to eliminate his opponents. This is how Trotsky was killed. Like Stalin using his secret police force to
