Adidas Strategic Planning (I) Mission and Objectives: - We would like to become the best sport brand in the world - We would like to help athletes perform at their highest level, and make innovative products modelled on the athlete's needs. (II) Type of Strategic Plan: We prefer to use the growth plan. Adidas will sponsor more famous football teams because 2014 FIFA World Cup is coming and this is an event caught attention of the world. Therefore, we can have an effective promotion. Also, the celebrity effect can benefit our promotion, so that, we would like to sponsor the famous football teams which have some popular football stars. In addition, we will focus on the football’s products in this year. (III) Level of Strategy: The plan we use is the business strategy. The plan aims at increasing the our market share and worldwide presence. Also, it can attract more customers who are the football fans. (IV) Ways of Analyzing the External Environment: - We use the SWOT analysis. - Strength: (i) We sponsor major sporting events (e.g. Olympics, FIFA World Cup) and major sportsmen and teams. (ii) We have worldwide presence and is internationally recognized. - Weakness: (i) Our products can sometimes be costly due to innovative technology or production methods. (ii) Stiff competition with the similar big brands. - Opportunities (i) We can venture into making more trendy designs and cuts. (ii) We can tie-up with emerging sports teams or players internationally. - Threats (i) The other competitive brand who produce sports equipment and accessories at a lesser cost. (ii) There are pirated or fake imitations, they would affect our brand image.
