I found Dr. Bill Wayson talk to be very informative and insightful. I strongly agree with much of what Dr. Wayson spoke about, especially in regards to ignorance as learned factor in school. I feel that so often teachers are rushed through lessons and classroom activities due to increased demands placed upon them. I think that as teachers we must always teach what we know and not what we don’t. While this statements sound so simplistic, it’s really being lost in the world of teaching.
This is due to the fact that although we are a world power, we fall behind our diversified peers academically. I agree with Baldwin’s essay that every single student should have the opportunity to be in charge of their own success and be able to determine such decisions regarding their own education. His speech makes me feel inspired and determined because of how determined he is to urge teachers to extinguish the unhealthy state American education and transforming it into a forum of empowerment. Baldwin states several pieces of information regarding our society and those made me stop in my tracks for a minute and re-evaluate how our society can change and affect people. Students must be taught within themselves and not by society.
It spoke to me as a teacher. So often we have rules and policies imposed on us by administration, or even other teachers; departments, and senior teacher of the ways that they have always done things. I have felt as a younger teacher and a female, amongst male teachers, that I was too scared to challenge the ideas or be rejected of my new ideas. Your piece really gave me the confidence to be ok to stand up for what I believe in and it reassured me that I will always win when I follow my own ethics, even if I just do it silently, without protest. This holds lesson too for teachers.
Thank you again for helping me whenever I needed help. And the final teacher who is one of my most favorite teachers is Mrs. Cox. Mrs. Cox ever since I came into middle school, you have helped me with my grades and other things. You are a great teacher to me. I want to thank you because you helped me with so many things in school.
Building a bank of “what if” scenarios is a valuable tool in building a solid teaching philosophy. * Discussing teaching cases allows teachers to reflect and think critically about a certain problem without actually having to go through the experience. Helping teachers prepare for possible situations that may arise in the classroom, is a huge benefit to teachers. Knowing ahead of time how to respond to a certain situation helps build confidence and reduces anxiety in the decision making process. Part 2 The Case of Jesus Gonzalez a) Key Factors This case is about a first grade student named Jesus Gonzalez, his family, and teacher, Mrs. Kiffen.
As no person can be good at everything, working in a team provides a great opportunity for the school staff to learn from each other’s skills and talents. Teamwork is dependent on trusting, professional relationships with each other and with their supervisors. As a result of teamwork, teachers and teaching assistants improve the ways in which they work together efficiently to meet the needs of children in their classes. I as a teaching assistant working together and helping each other create an atmosphere of teamwork that improves the child performance and work morale. > The Purpose and Objective of the team that am working in The team I work in is year 6 group.
Holding it is, like, ‘what?’ ” Frances credits her teacher not only for her notes in the margin in all six of those early drafts, but also for the encouragement to keep going. “I would have never imagined when I first started Western Civilization that that would have even been a possibility in all possible worlds, that I could write a paper that would one day be published,” Frances said. “She was just really encouraging with it and really supportive. I think having that support made me want to follow through even more. It made me feel like I could do it.” As she begins to think about career plans, Frances thinks she might want to play a similar role in the lives of others.
I’m a well-eddicated lady and I’m trying to revolutionise this school with my teaching, but it isn’t going to be possible if I can’t get control of a class of six year olds. I know, sir, don’t give up; I suppose the kids mean well. Though their pity makes me angry, I appreciate their comforting gestures. I guess that I will just press on. That’s all we can do in this day and
I was working, taking care of my son as well as going to school. It is not as hard as these girls put it out to be they just aren't trying hard enough these days. I am very proud of my self because I decided to further my education and make something of myself. I am ready to make this big change and step in my life and make my family proud of
I learned so much about all of he diverse cases. Do I want to work in a center like this, no. I really want to be a counselor in an elementary school but I'm so happy I went and got educated because I truly know helping people is what I want to do.
