In more formal terms a “drag-queen” is defined as a man in woman’s clothing. The first way to differentiate cross-dressers or transvestites which some say to be straight from drag queens who are said to be gay, is on the basis of sexual identity. Sexual identity is defined as being the way a person describes themselves male or female, socially and biologically. According to the article, “Being A Drag Queen”, drag queens keep their male bodies and do not wish to be female, they merely enjoy dressing up in womens clothing and wish to remain a male. With this, some facial transformation is acceptable but they do not go through the process of altering their bodies like transsexuals and titty queens who take hormones to develop breasts but stil keep their penises do, they are described as being “in-betweens”. A drag queen does not fall into this category because they do not wish to change their gender or alter their physical appearance as far as female body parts. As stated in the article “Drag Queens at the 801 Cabaret”, drag queens are gay men who dress as but do not want to be women or have women’s bodies. There are distinctions of drag queens based on performance style, in the category of men that dress as women which go unnoticed by the public but are recognized by the men taking on these roles. A female impersonator by the name of Lady Victoria is one drag queen that does take this issue to heart. He states that he “ hates the term drag because over the years, it’s been made out to be something trashy” and prefers to be referred to using more “professional” terms in his eyes. According to this article many interviewees identify being a drag queen as simply a male in woman’s clothing specifically someone named Sushi who identifies a drag queen as being “ somebody who knows he has a dick and balls”, so make no mistake when thinking that a drag
