“Put some rose petals on his nose!” “No, that won’t work!” “Put some frogs skin on to his stomach!” “Pray to god!” “Sprinkle him with salt!” “Whip yourself!” But they were too late. They walked in silence, tears in there eyes along the street to brake the news to Catherine Sibley. Two days later Maggie had gone missing. She had tried to run away, away from the illness but had fallen on the way and died. A week later Peter came across her body while coming home from work.
I think of Dawn the minute I see the bird, and wish I'd won it for her at a county fair, though we never went to a fair. I see myself throwing a half-dozen softballs and hitting every wooden milk jug, or maybe tossing rings. But those things are weighted of loaded wrong and that's another reason I never could have won this toucan for Dawn, because the whole thing's a cheat in general. So what the hell, I think, and lift the bird. Outside in the street it is one of my favorite kind of days, right there in the drag middle of winter when the snow is a few hard gray clumps and a dusty grass shows on rhe boulevards.
When Evyn first saw Eleni, with her red lipstick, black pants, and high heels, she thought Eleni looked nothing like a college professor and a mother. Evyn made the assumption that she went partying every night. That is an example of her being judgemental. After her father, Birdie, reminded Evyn that her new combination lock was 5, 10, 15; she forgot, making her forgetful. An example of Evyn being unintelligent was when her so-called friends, Andrea’s group, calls her Evelyn and doesn’t talk to her unless it’s to ask about updates with Ajax, she doesn’t realize that they’re just using her.
“Of Mice And Men” (Alternative Ending) Lennie collapsed on the damp earth, it’s cool moisture combining with his sweat soaked body emitting a thick mist of steam from his huge frame. Lennie had tried to remember where to meet George, but his blind panic had sent him zig-zagging through the woods like the chickens used to do when the old lady broke their necks to prepare them for the dinner table. He remembered how soft the feathers felt and he would spend ages just running his hands through them, still soft and warm, tinged with blood…. so pretty. ‘George gonna be so mad at me’, he said to himself.
He was saving peoples lives and had many great adventures and experiences. He and his two friends the cats, Abigail and Evelyn, were very unusual animals; they would know when something bad would happen. On the day before Christmas Eve, the weather man reported that a terrible snow storm was approaching but nobody took it serious and just went on with there day. The big storm soon came and the Callahan family got separated from each other. Gregory was at a game twenty miles away, Patricia was serving detention, Mrs. Callahan was in a school meeting and Mr. Callahan was at home worried about everyone.
The Hatcher of the Fugly If you’re really interested in my story, you need to first know where it all started. I remember the day I hatched from my egg; I guess I was pretty darn late. When I came out I saw all those phony ducklings staring at me as if I’m a goddam clown, I even heard old ma’ call me an ugly duckling. I really wasn’t sure if she was mine, she really didn’t look like it. Well anyway, I walked away from all those yellow pieces of crap, I was beginning to feel like a loner.
Jessica Armstrong ENG 2D Mrs. Martin 26 September 2013 Cuba 15 Violet Paz, a 15 year old half Cuban half Polish girl is forced to celebrate a quinceanero by her grandmother. Violet is completely set on not having a quince because she is definitely not comfortable standing in front of a crowd and proclaiming her womanhood. Besides she doesn’t like wearing huge, poofy, pink dresses. Cuba is a very hushed topic in the Paz household; no one will tell Violet what it’s like. On top of all this, Violet has to deal with her two best friends; Leda, a vegetarian activist who isn’t afraid to voice her opinion; and Janell, a dancer who has no shame in saying whatever is on her mind.
This is a particularly special event because most people are not invited to Gatsby’s parties but just show up because they know that he will be having one. As the reader finds out later in the novel, Gatsby’s main intention for throwing the parties was in the hopes that Daisy would show up at one of them and he would once again be reunited with her. While at the party, Nick makes an attempt to find the host. However Nick’s luck only brings him to

Gatsby likes to throw extravagant parties every weekend, and everyone around goes to them, but they weren’t even invited or they don’t know the host personally. At the first party that nick attended he heard these two women gossiping about Gatsby saying, “Somebody told me that thought he killed a man once.” (44).These women obviously don’t know much about Gatsby. They try and characterize him based
