Gm 591 Leadership and Organization Behavior The Forgotten Team Member This case study indicates that how to lead the team by wanting all members to have participation in a group in order to complete the assignment effectively and successfully due to the team lack of communication, it causes to reduce a great participation. Meanwhile, the issue in group’s development that needs to be addressed in the “storming” stage went unaddressed. On the other hand, team is very effective when they are separated to work individually but Mike is the exception. That is why Christine try to get mike to sort of add his “creative flowing juices” as well. In the “Norming” stage of development, team is perfect performance by everyone realizes their part and assignment, but the team also needs suggestion to head to achievement. So the team should have leader. The primary problem is team lacking of communication between leader and member, it also affects the provided data. So, everyone is part of team and having the same goal, the leader can guide and help member by having the knowledge of the stages of group development. Everyone has to realize and perceive the importance of team when working together and mix individual personalities and adapt themselves for participating in group in order to build terrific collaboration, make good relationship and nice atmosphere for performing, and be able to control and affection. For this case, Christine is pretty knowledgeable and skillful for her course, and she concern about her grade. She feels that her grade is paramount in giving her competitive edge when she is looking for job and, as third-year student; she’d soon be doing just that. Everyone has owned personality when having assignment due to people have the difference as diversity that influence them, so it is the origin of their behavior, perspective, and preference.
