Each member compliments each style in certain ways with the different characteristics and traits. The producer looks into accomplishing bigger and better goals within a timetable and can delegate tasks when necessary. The adventurer seeks primary goals, can deal with confrontation and seeks to get things done quickly. The steadiness style member is a go-getter, and looks for concrete short-term results and can be very industrious. My learning team consists of 3 dominant women members that have found a way to collaborate and make it work in a team
I think refining is the most appropriate response in this scenario. The vision and mission have already been established for Listo sytsem. However, the lack of employee training due to the rapid growth of the company and high turnover rate has resulted in low production and poor quality. Refining the company by using the ACHIEVE model to motivate employees is one of the theories that can be used to help the Vision to Performance. Managers need to know what motivates people in their organization.
A sense of humor appears irrelevant but sometimes a little joke with the team can go a long way. What is your personal philosophy of leadership? The leader must be part of the team he or she is leading. Leaders have to listen to the team’s opinions and ideas and analyze the situation prior to make any decision because the leader’s decisions affect the entire team as well as each of the team members. The leader must always think about the most good for the most people while still working toward a common goal.
Taking into account the opinions of others and listeneing properly to their input will encourage a healthy team and also give the person involved control of whos and what input they would like in their support. Features of effective team performance, are having the team interacting and empowering each other through discussion and suggestion, this enables the team through meetings and every day events to put ideas forward and develop them to see what works and what does not, as some people believe that they way they do things is the only way which is not the case. There are several challenges’ that can form between developing and established teams, as everyone has their strengths but with that comes some allowable weakness. When these are identified it is my job to nurture strengths and set goals to overcome any weaknesses I do this through observation, meetings, supervision and appraisals. Also through ongoing course work to keep up to date with legislation and any changes to legislation to comply with CQC 3.
An effective team leader will be able to bring together a group of people enabling creativity and improved performance while allowing the team members the freedom to do their jobs. The team leader will engage and motivate the team by being prepared to get involved to get the job done and will lead by example. Scouller (2011) stated that the purpose of a leader was to ensure that the four dimensions of leadership were being addressed. These were a shared, motivating purpose; action, progress and results; team spirit (a collective unity) and individual selection and motivation. He proposed that there were three levels of leadership:-1) Public – actions or behaviours taken by leaders to influence two or more people simultaneously that were directed towards setting and agreeing a purpose for the group, creating an environment conducive to high performance and driving successful team results.
AC 1.1 Communication is important at work for many reasons. Your team must be able to interact with each, this will help the work or job get done. As quickly and effectively as possible. Also this helps morale within the team, and helps more free following communication to continue. For work to take place the manager or leader must be able to communicate to the tem what she requires.
Hence this leads on to the support network that is created not just by the effective teamwork but also externally too, by the training and supervision they may receive, the recognition of doing a good job etc. The leader will have to manage the team, make sure that everyone is working towards the same goal by monitoring and acting to support all the notions above. The logistics of a team has long since been a studied subject, there are many theories that seek to explain the workings and analyse the how and why but one theory usually builds on another they usually will have the same grounding as each other with the same underlying principles as explained above. I believe that as a senior carer I have great responsibility to be a role model for all team members. My team members working under my supervision learn professional knowledge, skills, good attitude and proper behaviour from observing my work as a team leader. I have to make sure that I work as hard as possible or even harder as a team leader to give good example to everybody else. Giving example to others is one of biggest responsibilities of mine and I need to make sure that I am giving very good example so everyone else can learn from me. I know that good leader is one who also inspires other team members by my deeds which contribute in positive outcomes.
They also are “discovering what is considered acceptable behavior” in the group (Schermerhorn 156). Having a clear understanding of each member’s roles would have assisted in completing the storming stage. The storming stage is characterized by “high emotionality and tension among group members (Schermerhorn 156).” In order to get overcome the high tensions, the group needs to address any problems they encounter right away. Outside demands such as work or personal issues can create stress among members. Group members should strive to achieve interpersonal relationships in order to provide support to one another and overcome any outside issues.
