The main standards of my job role are to provide a high level of professional care to all residents giving them the upmost dignity and respect and also giving families and friend’s emotional support. Standards involving personal care and communication in my role are very important because it sets an example to other staff and new staff and can help them to understand how their role as a career should be executed. 3. There are a number of ways to ensure that personal attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of my work; it is important to leave any problems in your personal life at the door, so you are starting your shift with a clear, fresh mind set. It is important to remain completely professional at all times because you are performing a duty of care.
As a manager, I can see myself inspiring my subordinates to think, grow and take responsibility for them. I do this by demonstrating belief in what my staff members can accomplish. I believe that I can help people to improve, and I enjoy managing and supporting their efforts. Moreover, observing the best in people is important to me. In fact, my ability to combine an acceptance of others as they are with the inspiration and encouragement they need to become even better is what makes me a valuable mentor, manager, co-worker, and friend.
I need to be aware of the most up to date legislations and guidelines, and the welfare requirements. As a member of management it is even more vital that I am aware and up to date with the above, as part of my role is to guide, support and influence other staff to do well in their own roles. Your own professional development does not only impact on yourself but other staff, the organisation and people who use the service. Reflective practice is a huge part of professional development and you need to be skilful in this to really benefit from it, criticising your own practice isn’t always easy but if you take a step back and look at it from different points of view it can really benefit yourself and your skills. National Honor Society members have an outstanding performance in the areas of leadership, service, character and their academics. They must demonstrate a leader and model to others a person leaning towards success. Members must work well with others and be willing to give back to the community. Although, not only do they have to display leadership and service, but members express honesty, loyalty, courtesy, concern and respect within their character.
