Solitary learners find that learning alone using self-study is more productive than working in small or large groups. Now that I have briefly discussed the different learning styles, I am going to apply how they relate to me and how I am going to get my degree. Based on attributeadvanogy.com (2004) and J. White (2009) I am a physical learner. Being a physical learner, I like to work with my hands and take things apart and then put them back together in order to get a better understanding of how it works.
After taking a short questionnaire, I also found that I prefer to learn with visual aids, such as pictures and graphs. This type of learning style is referred to as Visual (spatial). I enjoy working with computers. The physical aspects of manipulating the keyboard and the visual depictions on the screen fit right into my preferred learning style. The opposite learning styles, involving listening and verbal skills, are more difficult for me.

I always use certain words like “like” and “y’know” to make sure the person I am talking to knows what I am saying. They are also fillers, so I have time to think of what to say next. I think the environment that I am in also caused the change in my language and the way I speak to certain people. In my transcript with my friend, I mainly use short sentences. I use them because I like to get straight to the point.
It also shows that I am capable of absorbing daily experiences and making it into a deeper learning experience. The time period that I had worked at Moksha and Pf Chang’s eased a process of maturation that was much needed. Not only did the period help me in bettering my empathetic skills, in addition it matured my thinking and decision making skills for the next step in life,
Her attitude changes quite frequently so I have grown accustomed to adapting very quickly. Many various methods of communication have been attempted with this person in order to maintain an open and honest friendship. By nature I am a non-aggressive person and try to avoid altercations when possible. Whenever a situation arises that may become intense, I sometimes use a little humor to try to lighten the mood. How we continue the conversation is determined based on the tone in her voice and her body language.
Through analyzing and a bit of introspection, I have discovered that my learning style is visual, meaning that I learn and retain information best by seeing it, i.e., in the form of diagrams, charts, tables etc. I am aware that this learning style is very strong and effective for me, in that, I would see actual flashed of the said diagram, chart, table, in the middle of an exam of when called upon for an answer. On the other hand, sometimes I would rather learning on my own. A good and experienced teacher can help me learn faster and easier. Sometimes when learning a course by myself which is hard and confusing to understand and has few sources available, I get discouraged after spending a lot of time. In this situation, I’ll look for a teacher and request for help from him or her. And then he or she will teach me the course efficiently in a short time and therefore I will learn faster and better and won’t get discouraged and confused.
After reading something, summarize it and read it aloud to yourself. A Kinesthetic learner is more like an hands-on learner and most likely love to move around frequently, like athletics, and to build things with their hands. It’s hard for some people that are more of an Auditory or Kinesthetic learner because most companies and schools leans towards to the people whose highest learning style preference is visual. But we should all be grateful for our talents we are all unique in our own ways. The best way for a person to learn their own learning style depends on the person.
