Role of project management in today’s business environment Today’s business world many organizations use projects to make strategies into actions and objectives into realities. Project management is a process for setting goals, planning how to achieve those goals, and the actions needed to achieve those goals. A project is a complex, non routine, one time effort limited by time, budget, resources and performance specifications designed to meet customer needs. A project has an established objective and all the activities are carried in order to make that objective success with the defined life span with a beginning and an end. Projects require the active participation and commitment of all the stakeholders of the project. Another important point is that every project has specific time, cost, and performance requirements. So managing all the above mentioned things is called project management. A typical project has main steps of defining the project with the project manager and team member to decide what need to be done, why and when, planning the milestones and deliverables, executing the project plan, monitoring and finally closing the project. So managing those things properly lead us in fulfilling our objectives easily. There are many reasons for being project management important for organizations. Project management increases the productivity. Properly managed projects will assign tasks to every available resource. So there will be no resource wastage. Projects managers also assign deadlines it needs to get things done from most of the employees. Project management keeps projects within their budgets. During the planning phase, estimates the budget required to complete the project successfully and on time. Useful budgets are created by a team, not by a single person.
