EDU 560 June 8, 2011 Effective Instructional Strategy One example of an effective instructional strategy that I have used in my classroom has been to develop and display a picture schedule. Prior to the first day of class, I prepare a daily schedule for each day of the week. I print clocks that display the time of each event for the day. I also print labels for each event of the day. On the first day of school, I discuss the need of a schedule and routine with my class.

Next, I need to create a to do list, where I write down all the schoolwork I must complete for each class, and the due dates. I can list everything, from difficult assignments to easy assignments and as I go throughout the week, I can check off assignments after I complete them. I’ll be focusing on the harder, more
