Kyle Moule English 093 Professor Labranche 4th October 2013 Preventing procrastination I need to get through college; I have to learn ways of succeeding in my classes without picking up bad habits. During high school I picked up plenty of them. Every year I was getting lazier and lazier. By senior year my effort was getting worse, because I just wanted the year to go by as fast as possible. My procrastination was getting worse and I was doing projects late at night the day before they were due. Since I was completing my work so close to the due date, my work was not as good. My grade would suffer from rushing through everything at the last minute. I was very unorganized, and I didn’t realize the affect it would have on me in the future. I realize I’m now in college and I’m here for a purpose, so why should I pay all this money to waste it because I’m being lazy and completing my work last minute. I want to prevent my bad habit of procrastination. In order to prevent procrastination, I have four solutions; become more organized, remove all distractions, stay motivated, and surrounding myself with people that encourage me to do better. The first solution to procrastination is becoming more organized. I need to organize my time so that I have some time to spare for my schoolwork. Back in high school I was unorganized, and my grades suffered from it, which caused me to procrastinate. My schoolwork should always come first. First off, I need to keep my work schedule consistent, that way I always know when I have time to do my schoolwork. Next, I need to create a to do list, where I write down all the schoolwork I must complete for each class, and the due dates. I can list everything, from difficult assignments to easy assignments and as I go throughout the week, I can check off assignments after I complete them. I’ll be focusing on the harder, more
