Online classes required self determination and a lot time. This is definitely not what I had in mind! Procrastination and grades don’t mix well and the outcome has many consequences. Happiness is hard to achieve when you are always in a rush to finish a task that was supposed to be done weeks or even months before hand. For example I waited all summer to sign up for fall classes and as a result I got stuck with most classes that other students didn’t want to take.
I would have cheer practice early in the morning and then have class shortly after and be exhausted, I would have to go eat me a red bull in order to be able to think straight. There would be days that I would have homework online and not do it because, I would forget or be too tired to finish my homework. I noticed that this was becoming a distraction since, my grades we starting to drop. This was not good because I had to retake classes that I should have passed the first time but choose to goof off and entertain myself rather than do what was important. Since cheerleading was so time consuming I still found time for my personal
Every student procrastinates. We tend to put many things off to the side and do them later. But when that later comes, we are rushing to finish whatever assignment we may have, causing us stress to finish it on time, which may result in a bad grade in the end. As a student I can say I am one of these many students that procrastinate in school. Even though it seems as the easy way out, I need to stop this procrastination that has been with me or my future will not look too promising.
Because my students are so young, I will make it my responsibility each week to type up their homework assignments for a whole week. Every Monday, each student will be given the assignments for the entire week. By doing it this way, the whole week has already been planned out and parents and students know what to expect ahead of time. I will try my best to be consistent each week. As the year goes on, I can gradually add more work.
My ninth grade was pretty cool until the last week of school I let my mouth get the best of me and said some things that I really should’ve not said and because I did I earned the next semester at the alternative school. When school started back I was very sad because I had to go to the “bad” school with all the “bad” kids and I was very nervous. Once I got there it was pretty cool and I really enjoyed it because the classes were smaller and you got more one on one help. My grades went up and my mom decided that I should spend the rest of the year there, which really messed me up because they did not offer any elective classes only the basics . My eleventh grade year was also a disaster because of the struggle of passing my biology state test and I was really distracted and just wanted to go back to the alternative school but my mom and the principle would not send me back.
I have started paying more attention in classes than last year and im trying to produce good assignments which gain me the grades I desire. I want to be able to earn god money for myself and not be hanging onto my parents for life and become an independent woman. I believe that an individual’s personal learning process would include: informal and formal learning, motivation, attitudes, friends, learning style and access to resources.I choose these influences because they all have an effect on an
For example, many of us weren’t really use to studying during high school, mainly because it was so unchallenging. But through college you are going to have to make some changes in your life. You are going to take those classes that require memorizing long formulas and theories, and that will take more of your time. During the process of college you are going to have to learn how to take care of yourself regardless of your parent’s being there for you or not. Responsibility will play a big role during this time of your life.
In my essay I will examine three things I need to do to change my attitude on my education these things are; go to totoring, study, and stop procrastinating. I am doing exceptionally well in all my classes except for one Ms. Boykin’s Algebra II class. It is my fault because I don’t wake up early enough to go to tutoring in the mornings. My strategy for the 2nd semester is to study and to stay on top of make up work when I am absent and go to tutoring to get help on things I don’t understand. Since high school I’ve been doing poorly in math but, I’m not going to let it get the best of me and I will do what ever is necessary in order to pass and graduate in June.
I have learned a lesson the hard way when I was a freshman in high school. Every time my mom and dad scolded me when they saw my grades I ask myself why study is so important for everyone in this world? When my freshman course ends, that’s when I realize what my parents were trying to teach me every time I get a low grade because instead of study for a test I was reading romantic books. Then after I saw how my final grade was affected, finally I learned the answer to my question. Is important to study first, because study gives us education and “education is the key to life and succeed”.
For an example if I wanted to get an A in my class, but I have I B; I will have to work harder for that A. I get an assignment Tuesday and its due the next class period I will have to do that paper the same day I get assigned. While I’m getting my education my priorities have to be in order, of how I want them to be. For instance I have to study for a big test and I rather go to the party. That is not having my priorities together that is procrastinating. Procrastinating all the time is not healthy prior of getting my education.
